That's it from me for Tuesday - we'll be back from 08.00 tomorrow and live updates on breaking news, sport and travel will continue here throughout the night.

Just before we finish there's time for a quick look back at five things we didn't know when we started out this morning:

    • You'll have an extra hour to go to Grantham A&E from next month - but some locals aren't happy
    • An increase in your council tax will be used to equip police officers with new wearable tech
    • If you're feeling cold you can pick up a coat from Lincoln's new on-street community coat rack
    • Skegness is to be created entirely in cake as part of this summer's So Festival

Forget Skegness rock - later this year you'll be able to take a bite out of the resort's landmarks when it is represented entirely in cake.

The image below gives an idea of what the jewel of the Lincolnshire coast might look like. This is a representation of Scottish landmarks in cake.

It's been dreamed up by the organisers of the So Festival - the annual arts and entertainment festival in East Lindsey.

There's an appeal going out for bakers who think they could recreate the pier, the lifeboat station or the iconic clock tower. More details here, external.

  10. Why are planes diverted to Stansted?published at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2017

    Mariam Issimdar
    BBC News

Stansted is a designated airport for dealing with hijacks and major security alerts.

    RAF TyphoonImage source, MOD

Such incidents are dealt with in a remote part of the airfield to the north-west of the terminal building.

The Pakistan International Airlines flight to Heathrow was intercepted by the RAF and forced to land at Stansted airport instead.

Squadrons are based at RAF Coningsby, covering the south of the country, and RAF Lossiemouth in Moray, to cover the north.

The Quick Reaction Alert crews can take off within minutes to intercept aircraft which have caused concern.

This can be because they are Russian military aircraft, or civilian planes which have stopped communicating with air traffic control, are not following their flight plan or have sent an emergency signal.

Essex police say they're investigating reports of a disruptive passenger aboard the Pakistani plane but don't believe it was related to terrorism or hijacking.

  11. Pakistan International Airlines statement: Vague security threatpublished at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2017

    Martin Slack
    BBC Lincolnshire Live

More here from the airline which sparked that alert for RAF Coningsby's Quick Reaction Alert Typhoon aircraft.

A spokesman from Pakistan International Airlines said: "UK authorities received some vague security threat through an anonymous phone call regarding PIA's Lahore-Heathrow flight PK-757 before its landing at Heathrow, after which, as per their standard procedures the aircraft was diverted to Stansted airport.

"Passengers will be provided surface transport to London. For the return flight efforts are underway to ensure least inconvenience to passengers."

It's been suggested there was a "disruptive passenger" on board.

Essex Police said the diversion happened at around 15.00 and the plane is on the ground at Stansted.

A force spokesman said officers are investigating the incident, which is "not believed to be a hijack situation or terror matter".

Typhoon aircraft from RAF Coningsby intercepted a Pakistan International Airlines flight on its way to Heathrow earlier today.

The Ministry of Defence says the aircraft was safely escorted to Stansted airport in Essex.
