    Cloudy and cold with periods of heavy rain and even sleet on the higher areas. Strong, gusty southerly winds will ease later however. 

    Conditions will turn less cold later with mist, drizzle and widespread fog covering hills.

  6. MPs win £54k damages each after UKIP MEP's remarkspublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 6 February 2017

    Three Yorkshire MPs have been awarded more than £50,000 each in damages after suing a Yorkshire and Humber MEP.

    Sir Kevin Barron, John Healey and Sarah Champion (pictured) sued Jane Collins, whose constituency covers north Lincolnshire, for libel and slander.

    The case was sparked by a speech she gave at Ukip's conference in September 2014 - a month after a report found about 1,400 children in South Yorkshire had been abused between 1997 and 2013. 

    Mr Justice Warby said she had alleged that each of the MPs knew many of the details of the exploitation yet had deliberately chose not to intervene.

    Your bill to pay for policing in Lincolnshire is set to go up by just under 2%. 

    The Police and Crime Panel has approved a plan to add just under £4 to the average bill; putting it at £205 on an Band D property.

    Lord Monson of Burton says that cannabis should be decriminalised after his son became addicted to "skunk" and killed himself.

    Skunk is a particularly potent form of the drug and has been linked to an increased risk of inducing psychosis. Lord Monson says his son, Rupert Green, wouldn't have used it if cannabis was legal but stronger forms, like skunk, remained illegal. 

    I've been speaking to him and he says his family is still struggling to come to terms with the loss:

    It's not the first time the family has suffered a tragedy, Lord Monson's eldest son Alexander died in police custody four years ago in Kenya.

    It's emerged that the man who was jailed last week for taking pot shots at people in Boston with an air rifle had served as a sniper in the Lithuanian army.

    Ruslanas Solovjovas, 39, of Vauxhall Road, was jailed for 14 months on Friday after shooting people at random from a flat above the former Wellington pub building in the Frieston Road area.

    Armed police were called to the area and when they entered the property Solovjovas, who was drunk on vodka, told them his name was "Jesus Christ".

    Passing sentence Judge Michael Heath told Solovjovas he had used innocent members of the public for "target practice."

    A waste processing site planned for Long Leys Road in Lincoln will not go ahead.  

    It's bad news for Veolia, the company behind the plans, but no doubt welcome news to the protesting residents who said the proposed site was too close to their homes:
