    He wants a Ricardo engine, which would have been used in tanks from the First World War, many of which were built in Lincoln.

    The Pensions Regulator has agreed a cash settlement with the former owner of BHS , Sir Phillip Green, £363m. 

    The deal brings some certainty to the 19,000 members of the existing BHS pension schemes who were left in limbo after BHS closed last year.

    Lincoln's High Street store (below) the city's St Marks shop plus one each in Grimsby and Scunthorpe closed after the company went into administration.

    And the Imps are still attracting the attention of the TV bosses with their game in April already selected for broadcast on April 3.

    It means the team will play on a Saturday at home to Bromley then have a day's break before the Dagenham and Redbridge match...

    Two people who helped a woman attacked in Grimsby yesterday could help police with their investigation into the incident.

    Officers say the woman was assaulted by a man in Railway Street, Grimsby, at around 15.00.

    One passer by intervened when the victim was pinned against a wall by her attacker. But shortly afterwards another member of the public had to take action after the man followed his victim.

    He is described as white, in his 30s, with messy dark hair which is starting to grey. He wore a thick blue jacket and black jeans.

    Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 2252917.

    Staff at Northern rail - which runs services to Lincoln - have voted to strike in a dispute over the role of guards.

    The RMT union announced the walkouts in a dispute with the firms over plans to remove guards from trains, which would become driver-only-operated (DOO).

    Union officials, who confirmed the 24-hour strike on 13 March, say the move will make trains potentially dangerous.

    I've been at Age UK in Lincoln today, where city firefighters have been making pancakes while spreading the fire safety message.

    The pancakes went down well with people at the centre as you can see from the pictures.

    Events are being held across the county to try and get more foster carers in Lincolnshire.

    There are hundreds of children waiting for temporary homes according to Lincolnshire County Council.   

    Pip Gagliano from the Lincolnshire Fostering Services says a lot of people have a lot of "misconeptions" about the role.

    The first event is being held at the Bentley Hotel in South Hykeham, near Lincoln, tonight from 19.00.

    A house which was at the centre of a string of anti-social behaviour complaints has been sealed off for three months.

    The action has been taken by West Lindsey District Council which took action on behalf of neighbours in Portland Terrace, Gainsborough.

    A council spokesman said: "A significant increase in anti-social behaviour incidents and calls to the police in January caused chaos for residents."

    The council said it was the first time it had ever had to take legal action to close down a residential property.

    A full review into changes to Lincolnshire's streetlights will take place according to the man in charge of highways in the county.

    Councillor Richard Davies from Lincolnshire County Council's been responding to new complaints - including those voiced by actor Colin McFarlane. 

    Mr McFarlane, who lives in Lincoln, says switching off streetlights is dangerous and is leading to an increase in crime

    Councillor Richard Davies has defended the move, which he says is to save money, but says the review will take place in the next few months.

  15. Response to Tunisia terror attacks 'shambolic'published at 11:32 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2017

    The coroner at the inquests into the deaths of 30 British tourists in Tunisia  has said the police response to the attack was "at best shambolic and at worst cowardly".

    An Islamist gunman killed a total of 38 people at a resort near Sousse in June 2015 - including Carly Lovett (below left) from Gainsborough and Claire Windass (below right) from Scunthorpe.

    The coroner - Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith - has begun delivering his conclusions  and has rejected a request by some relatives to rule that neglect by the travel firm TUI was a contributory factor. 

    The company says allegations of neglect are unfounded, but it is still expected that TUI will face legal action:

    A new stadium for Grimsby Town has been discussed for years, today the project could inch a little bit closer.

    A special meeting of the Council will discuss whether, subject to planning permission, they are prepared to sell land to the club and the stadium developers Extreme.

    Details have just been released on how you can get hold of tickets for Lincoln City's next FA Cup game away at Arsenal. They go on sale tomorrow.

    Tickets will cost between £26 and £36.50 for adults, between £10 and £15 for under-16s and between £11.25 and £16.50 for 17 and 18-year-olds.

    A man who was attacked with a glass in a resort pub at the weekend has had to have his eye removed by surgeons.

    The 30-year-old victim was taken to Boston's Pilgrim Hospital after the assault at the Marine Boathouse pub in Lumley Road, Skegness.

    Anyone with information about the attack which happened at about 23.00 on Saturday should call 101 and ask for DC Brad Sim at Skegness CID.
