    Good news from the cathedral the pair of peregrine falcons that protect the building from pesky pigeons are sitting on three eggs!

    The nesting site of the birds is on a ledge of the main tower at the South East corner, with a bit of luck in a few weeks they'll be three more hungry mouths to feed.

    Lots of police forces up and down the UK are paying tribute to PC Keith Palmer, who was fatally stabbed in yesterday's terror attack at Westminster - and Lincolnshire is no different.

    Officers held a minute's silence for their fallen comrade at midday in their memorial garden at the Lincolnshire force's HQ in Nettleham:

    Concerns are being raised about the number of vacant stalls at Grimsby Top Town Market.

    Councillor Stan Shreeve says he shares worries from some stallholders regarding the large number of vacant stalls at the market.  

    At tonight's full council meeting he says he will ask the portfolio holder to confirm current vacancy levels.

    East Midlands Operational Support Service, who coordinate specialist operations across our region, say they're looking at the deployment of officers following yesterday's attack in Westminster .

    The unit is a collaboration of the Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire forces and is responsible for deploying armed officers.

    Armed officers were deployed to patrol " busy and crowded places " over the festive period following the Berlin Christmas Market attack back in December.

    PC Keith Palmer ,48, was fatally stabbed by the attacker yesterday , he was a husband and father and described as a "lovely man" by Conservative MP James Cleverly, a former colleague.

    Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Hospitals Trust was put into financial special measures yesterday.

    Paul Glazebrook from Healthwatch in North East Lincolnshire says the trust has acknowledged the problem:

    They have a lot of difficulties to face, clearly the fact they're bringing in outside help shows they acknowledge they need outside help to try to address these issues. Clearly the fact that's happening is a reflection of the difficulty they're in."

    The trust says the financial situation deteriorated after significant pressures on the services and officials say they are determined to reduce the deficit.

    I've been speaking to Sir Edward Leigh, the MP for Gainsborough, who was among the people held at Westminster Hall after the attack as The Palace of Westminster went in to lockdown. 

    He praised the police for their quick and efficient response as well as the actions of PC Keith Palmer, saying without their efforts it could have been even worse.

    It's not looking too bad on the roads this morning but we've got a few areas where traffic is a bit slower than normal:

    • The A15 St Catherine's Road northbound in Lincoln 
    • The A16 Louth Road northbound in New Waltham 
    • The A46 in both directions at the A57 Saxilby Road in Lincoln

    Yesterday afternoon an accident on the A15 in Sleaford closed a stretch of the road in both directions until 19:00. 

    The crash involved a Nissan Micra and a Kia Sorento towing a caravan. 

    Police want any witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 14:15 between the Holdingham roundabout and the A153 roundabout, to come forward.

    A newly-formed campaign group in Louth is due to hold its first ever meeting to fight to keep its town's hospital.

    It's after fears over suggestions services in Louth and Skegness could merge, following a health review. 

    Officials have claimed they can't maintain services at both sites.  

    Louth town councillor Julie Speed, who's part of the group, says local residents need to have a bigger role in the decision-making process:

    They don't need something imposed on them, they need to be very much part of the decision. It can't just be through a survey posted online or through forums that only involve certain people. It's got to get to the wider community and they deserve to be a part of it."

    Lincolnshire Health and Care - says no decision or changes will be made until after a public consultation in the summer.

    A report into the overnight closure of Grantham A&E is to due to be handed to the Health Secretary.

    The department's been closing at night since August because of a shortage of doctors.   

    Jeremy Hunt asked for an independent investigation  last month, following concerns raised by campaigners and senior county councillors.

    Today, he's being given an initial report into the closure by the Independent Reconfiguration Panel.

    The MP for Scunthorpe has responded to the news that the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust has been put in to financial special measures .

    Nic Dakin MP says: "It is a real blow that today NHS Improvement have announced that Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Trust is being placed in financial special measures. 

    "Hopefully this will mean proper financial support for our trust. That's what I am asking government for."
