    You're being told to be "extra cautious if you receive a knock at your door this evening" after two elderly people in Gainsborough were tied up and threatened in burglaries last night.

    Police say they are reviewing CCTV footage, analysing the crime scenes and have extra police in the town.

    The burglaries happened on Ropery Road and Portland Terrace in the town.

    Lincolnshire police told us they're concerned about the level of violence involved in the two "highly unusual", and "shocking" burglaries over the weekend.

    The two elderly people in Gainsborough were tied up and robbed in their own homes on Sunday night; one of them was threatened with a knife.

    A person was cut out of their vehicle after a crash on Bluestone heath in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

    Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say they had to use cutting equipment to free the driver from a Ford Fiesta at the crash near Skendleby on the A1028.

    Police say that no one was seriously injured in the accident.

    The road was closed for a few hours this afternoon but has since re-opened.

    Police are renewing their appeal to people in Gainsborough to check on elderly and frail neighbours after  two "shocking" burglaries over the weekend.

    Detective Chief Inspector Peter Grayson says the crimes are "abhorrent":

    An 88-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man were targeted in the two burglaries.

    The man was threatened with a knife and gave his pin number to the attacker.

    The woman had a phone and £80 in cash stolen.

    A 33-year-old man was robbed in an alleyway off Ajax Court in Scunthorpe in the early hours of Sunday morning.

    The man - who was white, over six feet tall and wearing a black hoodie - allegedly demanded that the victim hand over his wallet.

    We all love a pay rise... Or at least employees do.

    But it seems that one of Lincolnshire's biggest employers thinks that compulsory pay rises due to the living wage could lead to a shortage of workers.

    Asparagus farmer Tim Casey says the Living Wage means that the wages they pay employees looks less attractive.

    He says they have to increase wages because of how physically demanding work on the fields is.

    A man from Spalding has admitted three sexual offences against under age girls.

    Roy Hayes, aged 44, of Gaunt Close, Spalding admitted inciting girls aged 13, 14, and 15 to engage in sexual activity.

    Police found evidence of his crimes after they examined his computer.

    He has been bailed until his sentencing in May.

    Apparently not, this six-foot-tall wall at Beaumont Fee in Lincoln needs scaffolding because the highways department at Lincolnshire County Council says it's "unsafe".

    The road - which is a common route for people to drive into the town centre - has been closed as a result.

    A charity drop off point in the centre of Lincoln has seen a successful campaign to reinvigorate their "warm rail".

    The idea allows people to donate coats and other clothing directly to people in need.

    Earlier we told you about two incidents where older people were attacked in their homes by a burglar.

    Now Lincolnshire police say they're concerned about the level of violence involved in the two "highly unusual", and "shocking" burglaries over the weekend.

    The two elderly people in Gainsborough were tied up and robbed in their own homes on Sunday night; one of them was threatened with a knife.

    Lincolnshire police say there will be a higher than usual number of police officers in Gainsborough today.

    They are searching for a slim, white man in his early 20s.

    If you've ever tried to travel on Lincolnshire's railways at the weekends you'll know that the timetable can be a bit patchy at times.

    However, you may soon have better luck, with East Midlands Trains announcing it's to add services on a Sunday.  

    The operator says from 21 May there'll be extra trains between Lincoln and Nottingham and more between Grantham and Nottingham.

    It'll mean there'll be hourly trains for most of the day, according to East Midlands Trains.

    An F-16 Fighting Falcon from the Belgian Air Force is to part in the Scampton Airshow this summer, it's been announced.

    It'll join the Lincolnshire-based Red Arrows and a Typhoon in the airshow this summer.

    A burglar tied up two elderly people in separate attacks on properties in Gainsborough and threatened one with a knife yesterday.

    A 75-year-old man said he had been threatened at knifepoint in his home on Sunday by the thief who demanded his PIN number.

    In a separate attack an 88-year-old woman had to set herself free after being tied up by the man who'd forced his way in to her home. 

    She had her mobile phone and £80 in cash stolen.

    Well the person in charge of that procedure is called a Precentor and Lincoln Cathedral has just appointed a new one:

    The organisation representing social care firms in Lincolnshire says government funding will help prevent a "crisis becoming a disaster".

    The Lincolnshire care association has welcomed £2bn worth of government funding and an increase in council tax to help pay for social care.

    But the chair of the association, Melanie Weatherly says it's only a short-term fix:

    One area of Grimsby has seen a massive rise in incidents of fly tipping.

    That's according to Liberal Democrat councillor Steve Beasant who says there has been 25 cases in his East Marsh ward in the past week alone. 

    He wants North East Lincolnshire Council to use CCTV footage to catch the culprits and fears it'll get worse if the council goes to three-weekly rubbish collections.
