Jackie White says that it's also become too expensive to run the centre near Spilsby in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

She says the limited space she has to offer means it can be stressful turning down requests from the public to re-home their rabbits.

It's very stressful with the amount of people that phone me all the time wanting to bring rabbits in and I've never got enough room so I'm having to close because I can't afford to keep it going any more.

  14. Fitties residents 'left in the dark' over salepublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 30 March 2017

The community group which tried to take on the running of the Humberston Fitties chalet park has accused North East Lincolnshire Council of keeping it in the dark.

Earlier today it was revealed a bid by the Tingdene group had been given approval to take on the park for a sum of £2.1m.

The park's residents had hoped to run the 320-chalet park with a £1.5m community bid.

    Quote Message

We know nothing about them or what leases they've got. This is a unique situation because we own the properties but we rent the land from the council."

North East Lincolnshire Council said it appreciated the residents' efforts, but it had gone with the best deal.

There was even a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a town crier.

The original shop was closed and knocked down; so the Lidl is the only supermarket of this size in the town.
