  9. Resort shop faces booze banpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 28 March 2017

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

A shop in Skegness has had its licence to sell alcohol revoked after police found it was employing an illegal immigrant.

The Premier Store on Wainfleet Road in Skegness, was brought before the licencing committee at East Lindsey District Council last week.

Sgtt Kim Enderby, from the Alcohol Licensing Team, at Lincolnshire Police said: “This suspension period will act as a clear deterrent to other persons who may consider employing illegal workers.

"Employing Illegal workers in this way exploits the worker, denies work to UK workers and legal migrant workers, whilst also giving the business unfair advantage over other legitimate businesses in the area."

  13. North East Lincolnshire gets housing cash boostpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 28 March 2017

The government has awarded nearly £600,000 to North East Lincolnshire Council to boost housing development.

It's meant to accelerate building on brownfield sites in Grimsby.

The funding will be used for technical feasibility and masterplanning studies, and to identify how the existing housing stock can be improved.

    Quote Message

Funding for these projects is a big step forward towards restoring a healthy housing investment market in the centre of Grimsby. It will fund the critical advance work needed to join up new projects in the town centre with the West Marsh and other inner areas, and get existing landlords to work together. Gaining this funding in a nationally competitive scheme shows that these plans have real support."

Henry Cleary , Chair of the North East Lincolnshire’s Housing and Development Board
