    Curator at the Aquarium, Sam Rees, says they've got their fingers crossed for babies but any matchmaking will have to be done quite slowly:

  2. Siemens investing £35m in Lincoln expansionpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 19 April 2017

    The engineering giant Siemens has announced that they're building a new state-of-the-art 7,000 square metre operation centre in Lincoln's Teal Park.

    They're going to move their small gas turbine parts and engine storage from it's current site on Freeman Road to the new building.

    They're hoping to finish the building by January 2018 and move employees in by the Spring.  

    In addition Siemens are also buying 11 acres on the Teal Park estate.

    A 46-year-old man will appear at Lincoln Crown Court to face charges of an alleged offence following a sting from a team of self-named ‘paedophile hunters’ who claimed to have snared him by posing as a teenage schoolgirl, external online.

  5. Fishermen's fears over Boston flood barrierpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 19 April 2017

    More now on the proposed flood barrier for Boston.

    Not everyone is in favour of the £100m scheme which the Environment Agency says will reduce the risk of flooding for 14,000 homes.

    A public inquiry examining the Boston flood barrier begins today. 

    It'll consider the environmental impact, the engineering needed to make it work, and the benefits of having it as well as the concerns.

    If it goes ahead, the barrier is expected to cost £100m and should reduce the risk of flooding to 14,000 homes.

    Police want to know if you've seen this bike on the roads.

    It was reported stolen from a property in Eastville overnight between 11 and 12 April.

  12. Grantham and Stamford MP confirms he will stand again in general electionpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 19 April 2017

    Nick Boles, the Grantham and Stamford Conservative MP, has announced that he intends to contest the seat once again on 8 June. 

    There was some speculation that he may not stand for election because he has been battling cancer since October last year.

    However in a statement made on his Facebook page, external Mr Boles said that he had completed his final treatment and was expected to make a full recovery by the end of the summer. 

    He said he supported the PM's decision to hold an election and he has written to the local Conservative association to re-adopt him as their candidate:

  14. First impressions: City station to be spruced uppublished at 10:02 British Summer Time 19 April 2017

    Over the next few weeks volunteers are taking it upon themselves to improve the look of Lincoln railway station.

    An unused platform will be cleared so that visitors aren't put off visiting the city if they pass through the station on the train.

    Shrubs will also be planted- and posters will be put up in the waiting room to make it look more attractive.

    Peter Harrold, chairman of Lincoln's Colonia Rotary Club, says first impressions are important:

    Prosecutors are set to announce whether a string of Conservative MPs and officials will face charges in relation to allegations of breaching spending limits in the 2015 general election.

    And the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) says the election announcement won't change their timetable.

    Several police forces - including Lincolnshire - have sent files to the CPS. The inquiries centre on the Conservative Party's national bus tour and how it was funded.

    Lincoln MP Karl McCartney says as far as he knows - he's done nothing wrong. 

    Last month the electoral commission fined the Conservative party £70,000 for breaking spending rules.
