  3. Remains of medieval priest uncovered at Thornton Abbeypublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    The remains of a priest who died 700 years ago have been discovered by archaeologists working at Thornton Abbey in North Lincolnshire.

    The grave of Richard de W'Peton, who died on 17 April 1317, was found near a former hospital chapel's altar by University of Sheffield archaeologists.

    It's believed that he was between 35 and 45 when he died and could have fallen victim to the Great European famine of 1315-1317.

  4. Man killed in A46 Osgodby crashpublished at 10:38 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    Police say a man has died after a crash on the A46 at Osgodby last night.

    It happened at about 21:15. 

    The driver, who was in his 50s from the Cleethorpes area, died at the scene.

    His passenger, a woman, was taken to hospital in Hull for treatment.  

  5. High proportion of children get first choice of schoolpublished at 10:18 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    More than 94% of children starting school in September in Lincolnshire have been given their first choice of primary. 

    The county council says that's around 2% more than last year.

    75 children have been offered places at schools they didn't prefer.

    Investigations will take place later after a flat fire in Lincoln early this morning. 

    Four crews tackled a fire on the fifth floor of Jarvis House in the city. 

    There are no reports of anyone being injured.

    The Imps took on Gateshead yesterday evening, seeing them off with a 2-1 victory after another late comeback.

    They missed out on an early promotion to the Football League, however, after their nearest rivals beat Guiseley. 

    Striker Matt Rhead scored the equalizer - here's what he had to say about the game:

    City can now seal promotion with a win at home to Macclesfield on Saturday.

    Traffic is queuing on the A158 Eastbound in Nettleham after a three-vehicle crash this morning. 

    It happened between the A46 Lincoln Road amd the A15 Wragby Road East.

    Avoid the area if you can.
