    MPs in Lincolnshire have been responding to Theresa May's decision to seek a snap general election announcement throughout the day.

    For as long as staff at White Gables Care Home in Skellingthorpe can remember Daphne the duck has nested in the raised bed there, and this year she's got 10 Easter chicks in tow! 

    They'll soon be let out into the big wide world, through the middle of reception and down to the river.

  4. Cycling flasher soughtpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    A flasher on a bike exposed himself to a female jogger over the weekend near Grimsby

    The incident happened on Sunday at around 11:00 on Station Road in Healing.

    The man is described as white and wore glasses.

    At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hoodie and riding a blue bike which had a built-in battery.  

  5. Call out rates for volunteer doctors on the increasepublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    More volunteer doctors have been called out to assist the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS) in emergency situations in Lincolnshire.

    Between April 2016 and March 2017 they responded to 291 in our county, compared to 253 for the same period last year - an increase of 38 calls.

     A project at a Lincoln school has brought parents and guardians into the classrooms, external to help with students’ studies and it’s seen a tenfold popularity increase.

  8. Woman jailed for shooting husbandpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    A Lincolnshire woman's been jailed for two years after shooting her husband in the arm. 

    Lincoln Crown Court heard how Alan Taylor was left with a 'useless' left arm after 57-year-old Mary Jane Taylor fired two shots from a shotgun. 

    The couple, who run a garden centre together, were visiting a plant nursery in Whaplode when the weapon was fired. 

    Mrs Taylor, of Long Sutton, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm to her husband on 8 December last year.

  9. Emergency roadworks in Bostonpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    Emergency repairs are currently taking place to fix a collapsed manhole cover at Bargate roundabout in Boston. 

    As a result, the inside lane off the roundabout of the A16 northbound has had to be closed. The repairs are expected to be completed later today.

    Lincoln's Conservative MP Karl McCartney says he's 'delighted' that Theresa May has called a General election in June.

    This won't come as a surprise to any Imps fans, though it might be a disappointment if you don't have one, but tickets for Lincoln City's game on Saturday are all sold out.

    Boston and Skegness Conservative MP Matt Warman has been giving his reaction to the news of the General election, he says it's a great opportunity for the country.

  13. Concerns over unregistered defibrillatorspublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    A restaurant owner in Horncastle is appealing for people to make sure they register their defibrillators after someone collapsed in his restaurant.

    Phil Cantwell phoned 999 and was directed to a device 10 minutes away, despite the fact there was another much nearer.

    The closer one wasn't registered with the ambulance service and Mr Cantwell says it's not the only one:

  14. Lincoln flat fire updatepublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    More now on the flat fire in Lincoln that broke out on the fifth floor of the Jarvis House block of flats.

    Police say a 24-year-old man is being treated in hospital in Nottingham - he's said to be in a serious condition.

    The incident isn't being treated as suspicious.

  19. Boston Marathon's runaway successpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    It was a bumper year for the Boston Marathon (not that one, our one), three times the number of people took part yesterday compared with last year's event. 

    Around 1,000 people took to the streets for the race, there was also a half-marathon and a fun run.

    A number of police officers and specialist teams are currently involved in a major operation in Grimsby.

    Several arrests have been made and police continue to search properties in East Marsh.
