    Paramedics across Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire are carrying out a trial of small patches which could help save the lives of stroke patients.

    About 40,000 people in the UK die as a result of a stroke every year, and it the country's fourth biggest killer.

    More than 50 patients across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have so far been recruited to the trial and researchers say early results have been very promising:

    Now the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) squadron from RAF Wittering, near Stamford, has shared this video with us, showing two of the bombs being exploded.

    Planners have given supermarket giant Lidl permission to build a new store close to the A52 in Boston.

  8. Police warning after trespassers climb Humber Bridgepublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

    Security is to be reviewed at the Humber Bridge after trespassers filmed themselves climbing the cables on Monday morning and then posted the footage online.

    At the moment, it's unlikely anyone will face prosecution as a result of the incident as no criminal damage has so far been reported.

    However, Humberside Police say they're working with the Humber Bridge Board to review security and are reminding people just how much danger those behind the footage were in.

    In a statement, the force warns: "From a safety perspective, we'd recommend people do not put themselves at risk by taking part in such potentially hazardous activity."

  10. Watch: Trespassers climb to top of Humber Bridgepublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

    Security at the Humber Bridge is under review after "urban explorers" posted a video showing them scaling the structure without safety equipment.

    The young men scaled a barrier and then used suspension wires as handholds to climb to the top of the bridge, which is 510 ft high.

    The climbers, led by London-based vlogger and urban explorer Harry Gallagher, who goes by the name of Night Scape, made the ascent on Monday morning before posting their antics on YouTube.

    Police in Scunthorpe have issued these picture of a man they want to identify after reports of indecent exposure in the town's Ridgeway on 8 and 10 May:

    On both occasions, the suspect was described as white, in his late 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, with short dark hair.

    Anyone with information about the man's identity is being asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.

    We've just had an update from the NHS about the situation in Lincolnshire's GP surgeries which have been struggling after last Friday's cyber attack problems.

    And it's good news, with almost every surgery in the county now out the woods, according to the NHS.

    A spokesman says: "Following the ransomware cyber attack that affected NHS organisations in Lincolnshire, as of 11:00 this morning, 95 out of 96 Lincolnshire GP practices are able to offer a 'business as usual' service to patients, and have access to clinical systems.

    "Back office functions may still be slow initially, so please bear with practices and their staff. Thank you for your understanding."

    A Lincolnshire social worker has been struck off on the grounds of misconduct and dishonesty.

    A Conduct and Competence Committee hearing found, external that Trudy Ann Taylor hadn't carried out her safeguarding children duties following an alleged domestic violence incident.

    The committee also heard Miss Taylor made up a report about visiting the children at school.

    Miss Taylor was neither present nor represented at the hearing which was held in London.

    An ejector seat manufacturer has pleaded not guilty to breaching health and safety laws in connection with the death of a Lincolnshire-based Red Arrows pilot in 2011.

    Flt Lt Sean Cunningham died on 8 November 2011 after his ejector seat initiated during pre-flight checks of his Hawk jet while it was stationary on the ground at RAF Scampton.

    The ejection seat's manufacturer, Martin Baker Aircraft, is due to go on trial at Lincoln Crown Court on 22 January 2018.

    In total, 36 knights have been created to mark 800 years since the Battle of Lincoln.

    They'll be officially unveiled on Saturday and will be on display on a Knights' Trail around the city all summer.
