Gary James, from the Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group, which runs some GP services in the county, says practices will now need to catch up on missed appointments:

    Quote Message

Practices are very good at identifying their key patients and the urgent patients, so I'm sure they will be prioritising and working very hard to catch up over the next few days."

  8. Watch: Bomb found on council tip detonatedpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Martin Slack
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

This amazing footage shows a bomb which was dumped at Boston tip being exploded by RAF experts.

Lincolnshire County Council says the bomb was among several found at the tip on Sunday.

The authority says it's not the first time live ammunition's been found at the recycling centre. Bullets were also found in March - causing two emergency closures of the tip.

    Quote Message

Luckily our staff spotted these dangerous items and then took swift action to make the site safe. On the occasions when people do bring these items onto our sites it puts our staff and residents in extreme danger.

    David Sykes
    Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

The City of Lincoln Council's just issued artists' impressions showing how the revamped Birchwood Leisure Centre in Lincoln will look.

Plans to spend £1.4m on the centre, in Birchwood Avenue, have been controversial because a sports hall and social club will make way for new facilities including a cafe.

The picture below shows how it looks now and the plan for the future.

The project was re-examined by the council's scrutiny committee last night after protests about the plan, but objections were overruled.

    Quote Message

As well as improving facilities inside the building we also plan to open up its external fabric, installing much needed floor-to-ceiling windows to bring much needed natural light into the building and make the facility much more attractive and inviting from the outside."

Rail passengers using Northern rail services in Lincolnshire face disruption at the end of the month.

Union members will walk out on Tuesday 30 May the day after the bank holiday. The action will affect services on the Lincoln to Sheffield route via Gainsborough.

Northern has issued a statement to say it's frustrated by this latest strike action.

Three eggs were spotted by the cathedral's works department back in March - and today it's being reported that all three have hatched.

    William Wright
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

I've just been in touch with Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust about the latest situation following Friday's cyber attack which hit many part of the NHS in England and Scotland.

    bug

The trust runs community hospitals in Louth, Gainsborough, Skegness and Spalding, as well as sexual health services and community nursing.

A spokesman says the trust is still unable to use a lot of its IT systems, although it is now in the "recovery phase", which means bringing computers online a few at a time.

Emails and shared IT networks remain unavailable and for a while the trust's operations centre had to move from Lincoln to Louth.

More details as and when we get them.

The trees were provided by Boston Town Area Committee with the aim of growing a community orchard in St John's Park in Skirbeck Road.

The idea was that once fully grown, local residents would be able to help themselves to the ripe fruit from the trees.
