    Martin Slack
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

A Lincolnshire woman's described how her injured son was taken on an 80 mile trip to get hospital treatment.

Adele Crompton-Allan from Great Gonerby says she had to drive her 7-year-old son, who broke his arm, from their home near Grantham to Lincoln Accident and Emergency Unit.

Grantham A&E was shut and she was told there'd be a long wait for an ambulance. Harry was then taken to the QMC in Nottingham.

    Grantham A&E
    Quote Message

If the A&E was open it would have been a shorter journey for us only being a Great Gonerby anyway... We could have got to Grantham quickly, they could've stabilised him, they could've given him all the necessary drugs for pain relief and everything which could have made him more comfortable earlier before we had to be transferred anywhere. It was not good.

    Adele Crompton-Allan, Harry's Mum

EMAS have apologised to the family saying they are sorry that they could not get to the patient sooner.

    Quote Message

There were ambulances in the area and a crew were on their way to the child, however as the family informed us they were making their own way to hospital the ambulance crew were made available to respond to the next emergency.

He has chosen to help all of Lincoln's food banks and community larders and went along to see what needs to be done to make a difference.

    Quote Message

These important places are very short on food, and these may be things that you have extra at home and would happily donate. I would encourage everyone to at least have a look to see if there is anything they can spare, and to help us feed those in need by dropping food items off at one of the seven venues in Lincoln.

    Quote Message

In some places it could be life threatening. There are quite a few potholes and for a motorcycle or a cyclist in the middle of a corner, if you were to lose control through a pothole and fall off there only has to be something, not even major vehicle wise, coming the other way. That could be catastrophic.

    Steve Plater, Superbike champion

The county council says it's fixed more than 200,000 potholes in the past two years, but councillor for highways Richard Davies admits they need to do more.
