  2. Manchester attack: National minute's silence to be heldpublished at 10:55 British Summer Time 25 May 2017

    People across Lincolnshire are being invited to take part in a national minute's silence at 11:00 in memory of the victims of the Manchester terror attack on Monday.

    Twenty-two people were killed and 64 injured after a suicide bomber detonated a device at Manchester Arena.

    Manchester's council has invited people "to pay your respects to those we lost".

  3. Domesday Book arrives in Lincolnpublished at 10:26 British Summer Time 25 May 2017

    The Domesday Book has arrived at Lincoln Castle.

    It's the first time the 900 year old public record has ever been loaned outside London.

    It's being displayed in a special vault alongside Lincoln's copy of Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest.

    The loan was organised by the Historic Lincoln Trust.

    Lincoln is getting a new hotel - after planning officers approved it last night.

    Developers want to build the Travelodge on Tentercroft Street.

    Some news we've just received from the RAF - their parade marking the freedom of the town in Stamford tomorrow has been postponed, following the UK terror threat level being raised to "critical".

    RAF Wittering spokesman Ed Palmer told BBC Look East: "In consultation with Lincolnshire Police and in line with national police guidelines RAF Wittering has reluctantly decided to postpone the parade marking the Freedom of Stamford tomorrow.

    "Although we are not aware of any specific threat to Stamford or RAF Wittering, we believe it would be more appropriate to hold the parade at a later date.

    "RAF Wittering apologises for any disappointment and thanks the people of Stamford and the nearby communities for their continuing support."

    We've already seen the cars around the cathedral and castle at lunchtime but if you're shopping in Lincoln this afternoon you might bump into these officers.

    They're part of the Lincolnshire police operation to reassure people after the Manchester suicide bombings.

    The county's Chief Constable Bill Skelly says you'll be seeing more armed police on the streets over the next few days and at major events planned over the coming weeks.

    Concern is growing for Nicole Rae from Scunthorpe after she went missing from home.

    Police say she is in the latter stages of pregnancy and they're keen to make sure she's getting the care she needs.

  13. Funding boost for Bomber Command centrepublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 24 May 2017

    The team behind the Bomber Command Centre near Lincoln have received a boost.

    They've been struggling to find the £2m needed to finish the project. But they've just been awarded £700,000 from BIFFA - which provides grants from landfill tax.

    As the picture above shows work is progressing on the centre, which is being built next to the International Bomber Command Spire on Canwick Hill, on the outskirts of Lincoln.

    It's being built to remember more than one million men and women who served or supported Lincolnshire-based Bomber Command during the Second World War.

    It's due to open in December.

    The organisers of music concerts at the Lincolnshire Showground (below) this weekend say there will be increased security.

    Razorlight are performing on Friday night - the Human League on Saturday. Organisers have been rethinking their approach to the events after Monday's suicide bombing in Manchester.

    It's from the opening minute of a new BBC programme about this year's FA Cup run.

    OK, so you've spotted it - it's Lincoln's Steep Hill.

    A lot of the half-hour programme features Lincoln and, of course, Lincoln City, after the team's heroics saw them reach the quarter final of the competition.

  17. Appeal after string of Lincoln arson attackspublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 24 May 2017

    Arsonists have been blamed for three fires in Lincoln.

    Police say the incidents have all happened in the last few days on Hall Drive, in the Boultham area of the city.

    All three fires happened on Sunday and Monday.

    There's an appeal for witnesses to get in touch.
