  2. Dog attack postal worker 'lucky to be alive'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    The husband of Sharon Singer, the postal worker who was attacked by a dog near Boston on Tuesday, says she could have died.

    Mrs Singer, who remains in hospital, needed four hours of complex reconstruction surgery and skin grafts to repair muscles, tendons, nerves and ligament damage to her arm.

    Campaigners in Lincoln who successfully fought plans for a waste plant near their homes say they're angry the scheme's been revived.

    Officials threw out an application for the site on Long Leys Road in February; on Wednesday Veolia, the firm behind it, said it'd appeal.

  6. Body found believed to be that of missing Lincolnshire womanpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Police believe they've found the body of 53-year-old Joanne Lewis after issuing an appeal for her whereabouts yesterday.

    A body has been discovered in the River Welland in Stamford. Formal identification has not yet taken place but the body is believed to be that of Joanne Lewis.

  10. Postal worker's injuries after dog attackpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    More now on the postal worker who remains in hospital after a savage dog attack whilst she was carrying out her round in Wrangle near Boston on Tuesday.

    Sharon Singer was set upon by a "Doberman-type" dog and suffered serious injuries to her hand and arm.

    Her colleague Russell Warby, from the Communication Workers' Union, says he was horrified when he heard the news:

    I felt sickened - you don't want to believe it's happened to one of your work colleagues. We started in the same intake of posties... I think there's that realisation that it could have happened to any one of us.

    The attack comes during Royal Mail's Dog Awareness Week which aims to highlight the significant number of dog attacks on postal workers, and to encourage responsible dog ownership.

    More now on the story that builders in the county say they're going to struggle to hit affordable housing targets.

    Rico Wojtulewicz from the National Federation of Builders says companies can't afford it.

In the last ten years we've lost about 60% of small and medium sized developers and we've had a decrease in the amount of homes being built.     If you live in Lincoln then you may remember that the stickers the City Council put on garden waste bins were, well, a bit rubbish really.

    Residents kept complaining that they just peeled off. Well the council aren't taking any chances this year!

    We told you earlier that it looks as though a statue of Grantham born Margaret Thatcher may never take its place in Parliament Square.

    Well now the current Prime Minister Theresa May say that fears that it may be vandalised should not stop it from going ahead.

    Lady Thatcher, who was Conservative prime minister from 1979 until 1990, died on 8 April 2013, following a stroke, at the age of 87.

  17. Job cuts expected at Scunthorpe packaging companypublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Packaging company Mondi has confirmed there may be job losses at its site in Scunthorpe.

    The firm is proposing to make 60 redundancies at the site, where 140 people currently work.

    The changes are designed to streamline operations and improve customer service, according to the company.

    It says it's currently consulting workers and unions about the changes.

  18. 'Boris Bikes' coming to uphill Lincolnpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    They'll soon be a new way to get around the city.

    Lincoln is taking a page from London's book and is putting in place 46 new hire bikes around the city centre- and new docking stations have been installed in the uphill area.

    Plans for a statue of Grantham's most famous daughter outside the Houses of Parliament have been blocked due to fears over vandalism.

    Backers had hoped the proposed statue of former prime minister Margaret Thatcher would join the likes of Winston Churchill, Gandhi and other political big beasts in Parliament Square.

    But there have been a series of objections, including the possibility it could be vandalised - and it's also thought the statue doesn't have the blessing of her family.

    The Parliamentary Estate has also objected to the proposal.

  20. Watch: The miniature railway in search of a new homepublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Volunteers who run a miniature railway near Boston need a new home for it.

    The Evergreens Miniature Railway started life in a back garden at Stickney, near Boston, and now stretches to a mile-and-a-half of track complete with a signalbox, bridges, lakes and platforms.

    It's become a labour of love for a band of volunteers who are now looking for a new home as the land has been sold and the new owners don't want the railway anymore.

    So far, the railway will go into storage at the end of the month and committee member Rod Timmis says it will be a sad day:
