    The community group that wants to run Grimsby Ice Rink is now advertising for staff.

    Grimsby Ice Rink Community will find out next month if their business plan to take over the rink is good enough for North East Lincolnshire Council which can't afford to run it anymore.

    Five possible stop-over sites for travellers are likely to be discounted by North East Lincolnshire Council.

    The council were considering the sites, a legal requirement, but they've told us they do not consider them suitable.

    They've told BBC Radio Humberside they'll be drawing up a new list soon which will go out to consultation.

    It's been a challenging year for Lincoln prison, according to a watchdog.

    The annual report of the Independent Monitoring Board for the jail says a lack of prison officers and sickness absence led to wing lockdowns and a restricted regime for many prisoners.

    The watchdog notes that this had improved by the end of the year and better management was now in place.

    Last year's Lincoln Christmas Market made a profit of more than £25,000, a new report from the city council has revealed.

    The authority, which runs the annual extravaganza, says it's mostly down to more people using the park and ride service at the showground.

    The market made a loss in the previous year of £61,000, but it's estimated the four-day event brings £2.5m to the city and its businessses.

    Actress Carol Lee Scott, who was best known as Grotbags the witch on children's TV during the 1980s and early 1990s, has died at the age of 74.

    The character was created in Cleethorpes during a summer season when she was performing with Rod Hull.

    Her family confirmed the news on social media, with her niece Gina Mear writing on Facebook on Wednesday that the actress had "lost her brave fight against cancer".

    Work to investigate the poignant stories of Grimsby's heroic fishermen during World War One has been recognised.

    A project called "Grimsby's Lost Ships of WW1" is investigating at least 30 of Grimsby's trawler fleet that were lost in the North Sea as part of the war effort.

    The group's beaten hundreds to be shortlisted for the UK's Best Heritage project and is in with a chance of winning a £5,000 prize.

    Members of the Skegness Liberal Club have gifted £2,000 to a local cardiac rehabilitation team.

    After a year of fundraising the members presents the cheque to the staff at Burgh le Marsh.

    The team covers Louth and Skegness and provides exercise and education programmes to support those who have experienced heart attacks, surgery or other cardiac procedures to return to an active life.

    Lincolnshire could benefit from a major injection of cash into roads in rural towns and villages.

    The government's to spend a billion pounds a year on reducing traffic congestion across England.

    The money's come from the National Roads Fund which is paid for with vehicle tax and normally used for A roads and motorways only.

    But the Transport Secretary Chris Grayling says he now wants this money spent on bypasses and relief roads.

    His Royal Highness will be opening a multi-million pound extension to the Bishop Grosseteste University, as well as taking a tour of the campus.

    Grieving families in Skegness say they're still not happy - despite the resort's town council appearing to have backed down on plans to ban people from leaving items on loved ones' graves.

    Earlier this year families complained that items were being removed without their permission at St Mary's Cemetery in Winthorpe.

    The town council explained it was for health and safety reasons but they've now changed the plans allowing for each grave to have a designated space for flowers and mementoes- measuring four foot by two.

    Lincolnshire Police have set out their plans for dealing with the problems of stalking and harrassment.

    Following national recommendations by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary, the force says it will introduce a range of measures, including specific guidance for staff on how to deal with the problem

    The latest annual figures showed nine recorded cases of stalking in the county and 914 cases of harassment.
