    We told you last week that Lincolnshire Police had begun a weapons surrender and that last time they did something similar they got some quite strange items handed over.

    Well it seems that this time is no different...

    An RAF bomb disposal team were sent to Spalding over the weekend after a hand grenade was taken into the police station!

    Today's the last day of the force's surrender scheme.

    A man from Mansfield has died a crash on the A1 near Colsterworth.

    The incident on Sunday afternoon involved a silver Peugeot 206 and a silver Renault Clio.

    The driver of the Peugeot was the man who was killed.

    Police want to speak to witnesses, especially drivers who were in the slow-moving southbound carriageway at the time of the crash.

    Work to improve fire safety in a Lincolnshire hospital starts today.

    Patients were moved from two wards at Louth's County Hospital last month because of concerns over standards.

    The work - which includes upgrades to alarms and fire doors - will take up to three months.

    An investigation's underway after a serious crash on the A1 near Colsterworth.

    It happened yesterday afternoon and involved two cars. The road was closed for several hours as a result.
