You may remember that yesterday we mentioned a dog had been seized by police in Lincoln over fears he'd been mistreated by his owner.

Reggie, a boxer cross staffie, was taken in by police over fears for the animal's welfare and the possibility he'd been stolen, with officers wanting to get in touch with his owner.

Having investigated, police now say the dog "has not been mistreated or stolen and his owner was playing with him".

Reggie is currently with the RSPCA, police add.

It's a special weekend in parks around the country.

Tomorrow, those who take part in their local parkrun, external might find themselves jogging alongside some of the country's sporting stars., external

It's all part of campaign for National Lottery funded athletes to give back and say thank you.

Lincoln City defender Sean Raggett says he "couldn't turn down" the opportunity to move to Norwich City.

Raggett (pictured) scored the winner against Premiership side Burnley in Lincoln City's FA Cup run in the summer.

He's also confirmed that he will still be playing at Sincil Bank in the short-term.

The Imps have him on temporary loan until the new year.

The Cleethorpes Chronicle has unexpectedly announced that it has printed its last edition.

The weekly newspaper, which was launched in 2008, called itself the "only locally owned newspaper" in the area.

In a statement, the owners of the paper say that it's due to "tough trading conditions".

They say a "shrinking advertising market" means they're unable to produce a paper to the level their customers are "accustomed to and deserve":

Vests fitted with GPS kit which are used by Lincoln City players during training have been stolen.

The vests allow players' progress during games to be monitored, showing how far they've run and at what intensity and have been used during training this summer, the club says.

Imps boss Danny Cowley says the vests "massively aid our ability to train the players and make sure we get that balance between fitness and freshness".

But now they've been stolen from Lincoln City's sports scientist while on a trip to the launderette, with someone using a rock to smash through the window of Luke Jelly's car to get them.

The club wants anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the vests to get in touch:

Police contact did not contribute to a Lincolnshire man's death, an investigation by the police watchdog has concluded.

John McKeown, 62, from Ketton, died in hospital after he lost control of his car and hit a wall on Wharf Road, Stamford, on 22 August 2015.

It was after police attempted to stop Mr McKeown after spotting him driving without wearing his seatbelt.

He was followed by officers for a short distance before Mr McKeown's car crashed.

Evidence gathered by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) found his car wasn't defective.

A post-mortem examination found Mr McKeown was more than twice the legal drink-drive limit.

The IPCC investigation report has concluded there was no link between his death and officers' actions.

An inquest into Mr McKeown's death which finished in July this year returned a narrative verdict.

University of Lincoln researchers looking into Lincolnshire's heritage have asked hundreds of the county's residents which of our local landmarks is their favourite.

The statue was made to commemorate the famous 1908 poster advertising trips from London to Skegness.

A mobile phone company has "ridden roughshod over democracy" by installing a phone mast in Grimsby without permission, a councillor claims.

Steve Beasant, Liberal Democrat councillor for East Marsh, is unhappy with EE's decision to put up the temporary mast in the town.

It comes just a few months after the company was told it wasn't allowed to build a mast just a few metres away.

EE has told the BBC its current mast in the area is due to be removed this month, and this new mast is just temporary until the firm can secure a new location.

North East Lincolnshire Council says it is now investigating whether the siting of the mast needs planning permission.

Further rail strikes have been set for next month to coincide with schools going back in the row over driver-only-operated trains.

Arriva Rail North, Merseyrail and Southern RMT staff will walk out from Friday 1 September with the last strike on Monday 4 September.

The RMT said no progress had been made over the future of the role of guards, due to safety and job loss fears.

Arriva Rail North said it is prepared to guarantee jobs.

Workers from the company - which operates under the brand Northern - will walk out on Friday 1 September and Monday 4 September.

It seems many people across East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire are keen to become police officers.

Humberside Police say they have had an "amazing response" to their latest phase of recruitment which closed on Monday, with 1,551 people applying to work for the force.

The force's new chief constable, Lee Freeman, who started work in June, says he wants to take on 300 new officers over the next 18 months.

If you missed the opportunity to apply this time, don't worry as Humberside Police say they will be recruiting again soon.

I mentioned earlier that today is the last day for you to have your say on the closure of the Lincoln's walk-in NHS centre.

Walk-in centres deal with mild infections, sprains and strains and other minor health conditions.

The closure of the Lincoln site is being considered by Lincolnshire's Clinical Commissioning Group because it says the centre duplicates services.

The University of Lincoln's Student Union president, Kudzai Muzangaza, has now joined the debate, saying the centre is "pivotal" for students studying in the city:

A man from Lincoln has spoken about the horror of witnessing one of yesterday's terror attacks in Spain which have left 14 people dead and over 100 injured.

Four people have been arrested and five people shot dead by police after the two attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.

So-called Islamic State has said it was behind the Las Ramblas attack and that IS "soldiers" carried it out.

Nick Mouncey, from Lincoln, who is currently in Barcelona, witnessed the van ploughing into crowds in the city's Las Ramblas tourist hotspot:

At least 39 aircraft will feature in the first ever Scampton Airshow, its organisers have revealed.

Among the planes due to be on show at Scampton will be a Vietnam-era OV-10B Bronco (pictured), a German Air Force Eurofighter, five deHavilland Chipmunks and many more, external.

The news comes after the show's boss said yesterday that he was "keeping fingers crossed" over a planned visit to the show by planes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Coningsby-based BBMF's Lancaster, as well as three Spitfires and two Hurricanes, had been temporarily grounded due to an engine problem.

The inaugural Scampton Airshow takes place between 9-10 September.

A man in his 20s has died following a serious car crash on the A16 near Spilsby.

A silver Vauxhall Astra and a white Kia Sportage collided at East Keal at about 22:00 yesterday evening.

One passenger in the Astra was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second passenger, another man in his 20s, was taken to Boston Pilgrim with serious injuries.

The Astra's driver, also a man his 20s, and the driver of the Kia, a 50-year-old woman, were both taken to Hull Royal infirmary with serious injuries.

The road was closed until early this morning and police are now appealing for witnesses.

Norwich City are set to sign Lincoln City defender Sean Raggett.

The 23-year-old centre back is likely to be loaned back to The Imps until January once the deal is complete.

Raggett was one of the stars of the Lincoln team that reached the quarter finals of the FA Cup last season, scoring the winner against Premier League Burnley.

"Sean is talking to another club. We've agreed terms and it's now up to Sean to agree personal terms and for a medical to take place," Lincoln manager Danny Cowley said.

There's been no official comment from Norwich City.
