The centre, on Monks Road, currently faces closure with the NHS claiming it duplicates existing services.

A consultation over its future is due to end on Friday and Andrew Morgan, chief executive of Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, says the centre's closure is not the answer:

    Quote Message

We're not convinced by the alternatives that have been put forward. My board has discussed the consultation and we are writing back this week. Our letter will not support the proposal."

  4. A tale of two hillocks: Lincoln estate residents stop bulldozers entering sitepublished at 10:54

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

More now on the row over the fate of two hillocks on the Carlton estate in Lincoln...

As we told you earlier, local residents have parked their cars in front of the entrance to the site to stop bulldozers from Linden Homes getting through:

    Estate

They're unhappy at plans to flatten two hillocks on the site, with City of Lincoln Council wanting the hills removed because they say it'll be easier and safer to cut the grass.

We've been in touch with developers Linden Homes who say they're carrying out the work because they're preparing to hand over the land to the council:

    Quote Message

There has been a lengthy ongoing discussion about the takeover of the land around the Carlton Centre. The local authority has said the mounds in question had to be removed in order for it to take over the land and Linden Homes was carrying out the work in accordance with the council's requirements. However, we were forced to halt the work due to residents obstructing the immediate area."

  5. Mariners fans boycott EFL Trophy gamepublished at 09:43 British Summer Time 16 August 2017

    BBC Humberside Sport

A group of Grimsby and Doncaster fans are boycotting their EFL Trophy game in two weeks time.

They are asking supporters not to go to their Checkatrade Trophy game on 29 August and join them for a kickabout between the two club's fan groups instead.

The supporters are unhappy with the organisers inviting reserve and academy teams from larger clubs into the competiton.

There are fears this will extend into the league structure, but that has been denied by the Football League.

    Here they are still standing:

    Hillocks

Sandy McFarlane is a spokesperson for the Carlton Centre Community Board and he explains why they've blocked access:

    Quote Message

We just blocked the road with out cars, we parked legally and made them change their position. We're reasonable people up here, we're no fools and we know what we like and we know what should part of the community. To destroy them without proper notice is just bad we felt."
