    Here's a nice story of Lincolnshire folk coming together.

    Cherry Willingham's Parish Council bought three fields in 2012 and have been turning the area into a community asset.

    There's a footpath, allotments, hen house and much more...

    Work has started on a footpath that will lead to the River Witham and connect to the Viking Way.

    Nigel Hooper's from Cherry Willingham Community Fields, he says they've got lots more to do, but it's progressing well.

    We could be just a matter of weeks away from finding out if there'll be a Red Arrows Lego kit made up.

    10,000 people signed an online petition, external earlier this year to get the idea considered by the company.

    The model is currently in review with Lego and they've told the team behind the campaign to expect an answer in the "fall or autumn of 2017."

    Lincoln's MP Karen Lee has been heavily criticised after wishing the former Communist Cuban leader Fidel Castro happy birthday on Twitter.

    She posted the Tweet yesterday and it's generated more than f 500 comments and been retweeted over 300 times.

    The Tweet says 'Happy Birthday Fidel' and includes a link to an online Book of Condolence for the former Communist dictator.

    The comment's been widely criticised by a range of political supporters including members of the Labour party who refer to Castro's questionable record on Human Rights and democracy.

    The former Communist leader died last November but yesterday it would have been his 91st birthday.

    We have tried to contact Karen Lee for a response but so far we haven't heard back.

    Anyone protecting a wanted Scunthorpe man could face arrest, police have warned.

    Kyle Ferguson is wanted in connection with "a series of serious offences", say police.

    Officers say community policing teams will be out in force on the Westcliffe estate in their search for him - and to reassure local residents.

    Businesses in Skegness have rallied round to help fund the resort's annual carnival.

    The week-long event got under way yesterday with thousands turning out to watch the main parade.

    It's estimated to cost about £10,000 to put on, with Carnival chairman Gary Starr saying it's a great way of showcasing the resort:

    You could have your name on the last airworthy Vulcan bomber.

    The plane - XH558 flew for the last time in 2015.

    Earlier this year the Vulcan To The Sky Trust, external was forced to put the 57-year-old nuclear bomber into hibernation at its home at Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

    The team behind it are starting a new fundraising campaign - for a £30 donation your name will be on XH558's wing.

    It will also mark the 10th anniversary of it's first post-restoration flight.

    Keeley Donovan, BBC Look North (Yorkshire) presenter, will host the regional current affairs programme Inside Out, when it returns to BBC One Yorkshire & Lincolnshire in September.

    Keeley, who was born in Cleethorpes, started her broadcast career at just 14-years-old, and has been a familiar face to viewers across the region since joining the BBC as one of the region’s main weather and news presenters in 2005.

    Since then she has reported for Inside Out and presented daytime programme Break-In Britain.

    Last year she launched national BBC One programme, Countryfile Diaries, with John Craven.

    Keeley will continue to present on Look North and Countryfile Diaries alongside her Inside Out commitments.

    She takes over from Paul Hudson who returns to his main job as Look North’s weather presenter full time.

    Inside Out Yorkshire & Lincolnshire returns to BBC One on Monday, 4 September.

    The Gainsborough Trinity manager Dave Frecklington has hit out at the standard of refereeing in National League North, following an incident in their 1-0 victory at Nuneaton.

    It came in the closing stages when play was allowed to continue despite Blues midfielder Jonathan Williams needing attention for a knee injury.

    This might not come as a surprise given what a rural county Lincolnshire is, but it tops the list when it comes to the cost of rural crime at a whopping £2.5 million a year.

    This has come from the insurer NFU Mutual which has revealed its Rural Crime Report, external this morning.

    They were later found in Germany.

    The insurers, NFU Mutual, say rural crime has far reaching consequences. Thieves are targeting items such as Land Rovers, tractors and quad bikes, despite increased security on farms.
