    The government is praising a Lincolnshire jail for helping deal with the problem of fly-tipping in the county.

    Inmates at the North Sea Camp open prison in Boston have been working on a rehabilitation project which has saved taxpayers £300,000.

    Matt Warman, the Conservative MP for Boston and Skegness, told the Commons the scheme should be extended across the country.

    The New Futures Network, external aims to work with prison leaders to support reform and ensure that when prisoners return to their communities, they have the right skills to get a job, access to employers and are able to build a better life.

    A man's been arrested after what police are describing as an unexplained death near Market Rasen.

    Officers were called just after midday yesterday to a house in Newtoft where a woman in her 40s was found dead.

    A post mortem examination is due to take place to establish the cause of her death.

    Anyone with information is being asked to come forward.

    Patients being discharged from hospitals in Lincolnshire face a "continuous nightmare", with some waiting for up to a day to be able to get home, the BBC's been told.

    A member of staff from within the hospitals trust says there've been problems since Thames Ambulance Service took over the running of non-emergency ambulance services in July.

    The BBC's been told the service doesn't give a pick-up time, which has led to people waiting all day in discharge units.

    Cases of patients having to go back onto a ward have also been reported.

    Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group, which awarded the £25m five-year contract last year, says it's aware of a few incidents and is working with Thames Ambulance Service to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

    You'll soon be able to watch live streamed opera and get married at Lincoln's New Theatre Royal, external - but not necessarily at the same time!

    It's part of a new range of services being offered at the venue in a bid to increase customer figures and ensure its future.

    It's a year since the venue reopened with a new team at the helm.

    Last year a BBC investigation revealed a string of performers, investors and contractors hadn't been paid by the theatre's former management.

    It's back to school week for lots of children but not if they go to the Louth Academy.

    The opening has been delayed because of major construction work.

    The school - which used to be Monks Dyke Tennyson College - will now open next week.

    The chief executive officer of the Tollbar Multi-Academy Trust, David Hampson, says education won't be affected:

  13. Suspected neo-Nazi soldiers serve in Royal Anglian Regiment, BBC understandspublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    The four serving members of the army that have been arrested under of anti-terror laws belong to a regiment that recruits in Lincolnshire, the BBC understands.

    The men, accused of belonging to the far-right group National Action, are currently being held at a West Midlands police station. Although none of them are from Lincolnshire, the regiment serves as the county regiment, it's two man Battalions are called the Vikings and the Poachers.

    National Action were placed on the Home Office's "proscribed terrorist organisations" list last December after Home Secretary Amber Rudd said it was promoting violence and acts of terrorism.

    This is the Red Arrows screaming over Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia during their two month tour of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.

    Some people leading the trust which runs Lincolnshire's hospitals should consider their positions, the health watchdog has said.

    It emerged yesterday that United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (ULHT) now has a deficit of £30.7m and NHS experts have been drafted in for 10 weeks to help fix its finances.

    A lot of that debt has been racked up by a shortage of doctors, according to ULHT, meaning rotas have to be filled with expensive agency staff.

    However, Sarah Fletcher, chief executive of Healthwatch Lincolnshire, says these problems are nothing new and the trust's management hasn't helped matters:

    The crowds have started gathering near Central Park in Scunthorpe for the end of Stage Three of the Tour of Britain.

    Setting off from Normanby Hall at 11:00 this morning, 120 cyclists will soon be racing to the finish.

    Some of the world's top cyclists are taking part in the race, including Olympic medalist Mark Cavendish.
