They'll be given help with accommodation and language with the aim of fast-tracking them into work.

Retired GP Dr Andrew Mowatt, who's behind the project, says they're badly needed:

  15. CLA lends support to Louth cattle marketpublished at 09:23 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    Maggie Curtis
    News Editor, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

The Country, Land and Business Association lobby group has given its backing to maintain Lincolnshire's last remaining livestock market.

    Louth

East Lindsey District Council has proposed three options for the site in Louth - to keep it, close it or move it. A consultation on its future - which ends tomorrow - has had more than 3000 responses.

Claire Wright - Regional Surveyor for the Country, Land and Business Association - says they feel quite optimistic:

    Quote Message

The market is absolutely vital for the livestock farmers in Lincolnshire, the next nearest one is in Newark, Hull or Thirsk. Agriculture can be a very lonely profession and it gives farmers a place to network with friends and peers.

  16. Solar storms led to whales beaching on Lincolnshire coast, claim researcherspublished at 09:02 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

You may remember that last January three sperm whales washed up on the Lincolnshire coast, one at Skegness and two at Gibraltar Point.

It was a sad sight to see and they weren't the only ones. In total 29 sperm whales washed ashore on both sides of the North Sea.

People across the Europe wanted to know just why they had ended up in such shallow waters before ultimately starving to death and washing in.

    Whales

There was speculation that they'd been disturbed by off shore wind turbines or chased squid too far but now researchers in Germany say they believe that they got confused by solar storms.

If they're big enough these storms can distort the Earth's magnetic field - which the researchers say the whales use to navigate.

It's still only a theory but large solar storms were recorded shortly before the strandings.
