    Barbara Stimpson
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire News

Restrictions on referring non-urgent cases to hospital consultants in a part of Lincolnshire are only temporary and a full service will be resumed as soon as possible, health bosses say.

Areas affected are cardiology, neurology, dermatology and ear, nose and throat.

GPs in the east of the county have been told only the most serious cases will be dealt with until pressure is lifted on the departments.

Heart patient Carol Wilkinson says she's frustrated she won't be seen by a doctor for more than a year:

It was all to make a point about security in a show of solidarity with fans of neighbouring club Grimsby.

Last month, female Grimsby fans were allegedly asked to show their bras to stewards during security searches at Stevenage - an approach heavily criticised by a Grimsby supporters' group.

Stevenage FC is now being investigated by the English Football League.

Not one to stand idly by, Mr Chanter, 33, decided to find the biggest brassiere he could buy and invited security staff at the same ground to check him over.

  4. Reunited: An act of remembrance for Lincoln's Beechey familypublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 11 September 2017

    Michael Hortin
    Assistant Editor, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

Did you know that three families across the whole of the country lost five sons during World War One - and that one of those was the Beechey family from Lincolnshire?

Amy Beechey, who lived with her daughters and youngest son on Avondale Street, Lincoln, lost five of her sons - Barnard, Frank, Harold, Charles and Leonard (pictured) during the conflict.

    Beechey FamilyImage source, Michael Walsh

By the end of the war, she had just three sons - Chris, Eric, and Sam - left.

Now, 100 years on from the death of the fifth Beechey brother in WWI, I'll be telling their story by following in their footsteps and reuniting them with an act of remembrance.

BBC Radio Lincolnshire has joined with Lincoln Cathedral where staff have carved six crosses out of Lincoln limestone and I will be placing one on each of the brothers' graves.

The sub dean of Lincoln Cathedral has also written a prayer for each of the five men.

You can follow the story of these brothers in arms right here over the coming weeks as I tell their story through a vlog and a radio documentary.

  5. Death of man in Holbeach 'unexplained'published at 16:29 British Summer Time 11 September 2017

The death of a man whose body was found in Holbeach this morning is unexplained, say police.

Emergency services were called to an address in Fleet Street shortly after 09:00 to attend to a man in his 40s but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination will take place later to determine the cause of his death, police say.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.

The aircraft, from 61 Squadron was shot down in 1942 during a night bombing run from the UK to Bremen, Germany, in 1942.

It had flown from RAF Syerston in Nottinghamshire.

It's thought the crashed aircraft may contain the remains of tailgunner F.J. Cooper, from Canada.

Teams have managed to drain the water from around it, and work starts today to lift it out of the mud.

    Quote Message

There's a lot of water around it and that water causes a lot of pressure and when it's not regulated in a proper way then because of the pressure it's possible that the soil will explode."

  7. Child sex abuse survivors talk about their experiencespublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 11 September 2017

    Hope Bolger
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Victims of child sexual abuse in Lincolnshire are being encouraged to share their stories.

    Child sex abuse

The Truth Project, which is part of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, will hear directly from victims about their experiences in Grimsby and Grantham.

They'll be asked to make suggestions about how to stop further abuse and the information will then be used to shape recommendations to Parliament.

Survivor Danny Woolsencroft, who helped design the project, says he hopes it'll lead to real change:

    Quote Message

This stuff is still as prevalent and is still set in society as it has been for many years. Child sex abuse hasn't just stopped and it's not a thing of the past. Exploitation of children is rife today."

    Danny Woolsencroft, Truth Project

  13. Concerns voiced after GPs advised to only refer urgent casespublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 11 September 2017

GPs in Lincolnshire are being urged to only refer urgent cases to the county's hospitals amid long waiting lists for cardiology, neurology, dermatology and ear, nose and throat specialists.

    Waiting room

United Lincolshire Hospitals Trust says it's experiencing significant pressure and waiting times in these outpatient departments.

Reacting to this, Carol Wilkinson, from Manby, who's waiting for a cardiologist's appointment, says she fears it could mean further problems for people who are already facing serious health problems:

    Quote Message

If someone tells you that you can't see a doctor for that length of time, what do you do? Some people will probably say, 'Oh all right then' and they won't contact their doctor again. They'll wait until it's serious and ring 999."

    Carol Wilkinson

And Sarah Fletcher, from HealthWatch Lincolnshire, says it's "very worrying" that people are having to wait a long time to see a specialist:

    Quote Message

I think it just really demonstrates the overall difficulties our hospital trust is having at this moment in time."

The Pilgrims boss believes his players are not giving their best.

    Quote Message

We're fragile, I think the group we've got, we've said it from day one, is a young group. We showed a bit of fight, and a bit of spirit, and got a couple of goals but you can't play for half an hour like we did and expect to come away to places like this and get anything."
