GPs in Lincolnshire have been asked to refer only urgent cases to dermatology, neurology, cardiology and ear, nose and throat specialists.
The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust says it's experiencing significant pressure and waiting times in these outpatients departments.
The East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group has told its GPs to refer patients to providers outside the county or manage them themselves.
East Lincolnshire CCG and the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust say it's a temporary measure to relieve pressure on services and urgent cases will continue to be seen.
