    Lara King

Grimsby's Police Station is 60 years old today.

It was built with 14 cells for men and 6 for women and all the mod cons of 1950's policing.

There were 168 sergeants and constables. Six of those were women. There were 195 special officers.

I went along to a celebration at the police station yesterday and met 86-year-old Len Rayner, one of the original serving officers.

Len told me he worked here till he retired in 1983 and says in those days, because they walked the streets, they saw much more than if they were in a car.

    David Sykes
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

A 24-hour service at Grantham Hospital could be in place by winter.

Health trusts are collaborating to bring in a temporary measure that would replace an overnight A&E service which closed 13 months ago.

    Grantham A&E

Campaigners from two groups which have been calling for the re-introduction of 24-hour care in the town have given the scheme a cautious welcome.

But they also say the plan is currently "light on detail" and they're concerned that there won't be the right staff to deal with genuine medical emergencies.

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

A lady from Grantham has been reunited with her precious wedding bracelet after it was found by workers at a tip.

Kath Groom lost the bracelet after dropping off some gardening waste at Grantham's household waste recycling centre.

    Quote Message

"I was absolutely gutted when I realised the bracelet was missing. After I double-checked everything – the reality that I had actually lost it hit me. I retraced my steps and even went back to the tip to ask if anyone had seen it, but unfortunately no one had. I went home thinking it was lost forever"

    Kath Groom

But on a second visit to the tip a fortnight later, she was reunited with the bracelet after one of the workers overheard her talking about it.

"The chaps at the tip were absolutely marvellous and a credit to the organisation - I will always be grateful to them," Kath said.

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Network Rail says it can't afford to build a footbridge over a railway line in Lincoln if it has to include a lift.

There's already a footbridge over the level crossing on Lincoln's High Street but there were plans for a crossing over the railway line at the Brayford Wharf (pictured below).

City of Lincoln council rejected the plans because they didn't include a lift.

An appeal is in process but Rachel Lowe from Network Rail says that if the appeal fails they may "have to consider" not building the footbridge at all.

    Quote Message

The design that is on the table is one that could have lifts fitted in the future should funding become available"

A Boston school has had its Ofsted rating downgraded from "Good" to "Requires Improvement".

Giles Academy in Old Leake, near Boston, was criticised for having maths and science grades below the national average for "too long"; and for the performance of 6th form students being "too low" in academic subjects.

The report also said that "far too many" pupils were skipping school or turning up late for lessons.

But the 970 pupil school is praised for being a "harmonious community" where pupils are taught to respect one another.

The school also received approval for supporting pupils who speak English as a second language.

    Quote Message

We intend to use the report and the comments made by Ofsted to implement changes to the school to make this a better school for all of our students.
