    The Assistant Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police has thanked his colleagues and members of the public for their support following the Parsons Green attack.

    Now that the terror alert level has been lowered to 'severe' and the armed officers from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary have left Lincolnshire, ACC Shaun West had a reassuring message for the county:

    Two adults have been charged in relation to a disturbance at the Lincoln City v Mansfield Town match this weekend.

    A 14 year old has also entered the youth referral scheme.

    Two flares were thrown onto the pitch during the game.

    The B1398 has reopened after 4 cars came off the road following a diesel spill.

    Some of the cars ended up in ditches or in fields after losing grip on the road between Kirton in Lindsey and Hemswell.

    Let's take you through the top stories this afternoon in Lincolnshire:

    • A lack of basic computer and internet skills is threatening to shut people out of benefits, it's claimed
    • A 17-year-old has been stabbed in Grantham.
    • A restaurant in Spalding has been stripped of it's alcohol licence after undercover officers discovered it was being run like a nightclub.
    • A road's closed in Northern Lincolnshire after a diesel spill lead to vehicles sliding off the road.
    • A man who took to the roof of a house in Scunthorpe in a bid to escape police arrest has admitted a number of offences.

  8. Celebrating Lincolnshire's big skiespublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 18 September 2017

    More than 100 photos have been submitted for a calendar celebrating Lincolnshire's skies.

    The calendar is to be sold for charity, raising money for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

    People have sent in their best snaps from all over the county.

    Now all of the entries have to be whittled down to the final 12.

    The main organiser, Rachel Rogers says she's been "bowled over" by the number of entries.

    It's understood that the civil nuclear police who've been in Lincolnshire over the weekend have been stood down.

    The armed police normally guard nuclear power stations around the country.

    The officers were deployed in the wake of the London tube attack, when the UK terror alert was raised to 'critical'.

    Yesterday, the threat level was altered to 'severe'.

    There's been a 10% rise in visitor numbers to Cleethorpes this summer compared to last year.

    That's what the leader of North East Lincolnshire Council has told us.

    It comes as businesses in the resort say they've seen an increase in trade too.

    There were originally fears that tourism numbers could be hit because of the closure of the Pleasure Island Theme Park.

    A man who took to the roof of a house in a bid to escape police arrest has admitted a number of offences.

    Kyle Ferguson, 23, of Salisbury Close, Scunthorpe, was wanted by Humberside Police and was detained after a rooftop stand-off near his home last month.

    At Grimsby Crown Court today he pleaded guilty to various charges including three counts of affray, one count of racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment and another of having a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place.

    Ferguson has been remanded in custody until 29 September when he is due to be sentenced at the same court.

    A teenager has been stabbed in Grantham

    The 17-year-old boy is in hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

    Police were called to a reported stabbing at 15.02 on Sunday.

    Lincolnshire Police, external are appealing for witnesses, who should call 101 quoting incident number 265.

    A suspected oil spill has caused four vehicles to come off the road and three others to spin out of control near Kirton Lindsey in North Lincolnshire.

    There was one minor injury to one person.

    The road has been closed to allow the vehicles to be recovered and the road cleaned.

    Here's more on those inflatable whales that were spotted on Trusthorpe beach at the weekend.

    They were being used for a training exercise by the charity, British Divers Marine Life Rescue.

    It's easy to see why some people mistook them for real whales!

    Grimsby's MP wants to see lasting changes in the trust that runs hospitals in the town, as well as Scunthorpe and Goole.

    In April, The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospital Trust (NLAG) became the first trust in the country to re-enter special measures after inspectors found patient safety and care had worsened.

    Mark Garthwaite, a chief inspector who retired last week after 30 with Lincolnshire Police has been reflecting on the highs and lows of his career.

    He admitted that it's "scary" that the population has grown but the number of police officers hasn't, and he said he doesn't envy the police officers of today.

    He praised the hard work of his colleagues, and said he's leaving the force at the top of his game.

    Here's my interview with him in full:

    He won't be able to relax completely though, he's coming back to the force soon to work in a civilian capacity.

    He also said his wife has given him a long list of jobs to keep him busy.

    One in four people in Lincolnshire don't know how to write and send an email, according to government figures.

    There are fears the lack of basic IT knowledge is stopping people from getting jobs and it might affect them when changes to the benefits system come into place.

    Universal Credit, which is replacing some benefits and tax credits next month, is administered online by claimants.

    It's claimed some people don't feel they need to learn how to use a computer, while others blame poor internet access across the county.
