    Hope Bolger
    Reporter - BBC Lincolnshire

Soil contaminated by a mustard gas find in Lincolnshire is to be removed and incinerated.

Dozens of canisters of the chemical weapon were found in Roughton Moor Woods near Woodhall Spa (pictured) on October 1.

East Lindsey District Council, which has taken over responsibility for the site, says the site is still cordoned off, and there's no fixed date for when it will reopen.

    Quote Message

Over the years.... the mustard gas has been in the ground in canisters. A number of those canisters degraded so there was some small leakage of material into the soil... It's not regarded to be a massive area by any means but certainly where that's happened we need to identify where that is and remove the soil."
