    Two dog walkers had a narrow escape after becoming stranded on a sandbank in Cleethorpes.

    Cleethorpes RNLI says the pair, from West Yorkshire, had been walking their dogs on the beach, when the tide came in around them.

    The inshore lifeboat was launched and the two ladies and their dogs were brought safely to shore.

    Two dozen jobs are at risk as a Lincolnshire sugar beet handling company has gone into administration.

    M and J Haulage Limited is based at Snelland, north of Lincoln has appointed administrators.

    They say they'll now look at operating the business while trying to find a buyer for the company.

    A man has been charged on suspicion of possession of a firearm after taking an imitation gun into a garage in Lincoln.

    A 43-year-old man has been remanded in custody and will appear in Lincoln Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning.

    Police were called to Hickson's Garage on Birchwood Avenue on Sunday night after reports of a man with a gun or imitation weapon.

    Police say no demands or threats were reported, and no one was injured.

    Police want to speak to two people after a handbag theft in a supermarket.

    Police say a woman was shopping at Aldi in Immingham near Grimsby on 29 September, when her handbag was stolen from the trolley.

    The missing bank cards from her purse were later used to make purchases.

    Police, who believe the pair pictured could have information, say this is one of a number of similar thefts, and are urging for anyone with information to make contact., external

    Hundreds of varieties of the finest sausages in country (sorry Cumberland) were on display in Lincoln this weekend for the 15th annual sausage festival.

    Organisers say there was a record number of stalls as well as 15,000 attendees and by midday they'd taken £8,000 in circular pound coins which are now officially no longer currency.

    It also featured an appearance by the slightly disturbing mascot "Mr.Sausage".

  7. Students learn CPR for campaignpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    Students at Monks Abbey Primary School in Lincoln have been learning CPR as part of BBC Lincolnshire's Save a Life campaign.

    The campaign is seeing a boost today because it coincides with 'Restart A Heart' a national CPR campaign.

    Councils are warning you to be vigilant of "rogue" fly tippers, who offer services to dump rubbish for cash.

    Three district councils are teaming up to warn you that you may be held responsible if your rubbish is found dumped somewhere other than at the tip.

    South Holland, Boston and East Lindsey councils say they had to clear three thousand fly-tips last year.

    A burglar snuck in to a home in Woodhall Spa and stole valuables over the weekend.

    The thief, described by police as white man in his mid 20s, stole a wallet, cash and bank cards from the home on Witham Road on Saturday afternoon.

    The theft took place while the occupants were still in the house.

    Police say the suspect is around 5ft 6ins and was wearing a dark hoodie and brown/grey jogging bottoms.

  10. UK firm chosen to drill 60km tunnel under countypublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 16 October 2017

    A UK Engineering firm has been chosen to lay 60km of cable under Lincolnshire.

    J Murphy and Sons Limited from Kentish Town has been chosen to drill a huge tunnel from Anderby Creek to Bicker Fen (see map below).

    It's to connect the Tritton Knoll offshore Windfarm to a substation near Boston.

    The process will use the largest number of horizontal directional drills ever used on a single project.

    The wind farm will supply enough renewable electricity to power 800,000 households per year.

    The skies are glowing with African dust this afternoon because of Storm Ophelia.

    While the storm batters Ireland and western parts of the UK, it's circulated dust into the skies over Lincolnshire.

    BBC Weather says it's due to "a mix of Saharan dust and debris from forest fires in Northern Spain and Portugal".

    The existing building is now completely closed and all services have moved to the new site on Moor Lane.

    Boston United FC say ticket prices will be reduced for the tomorrow's FA Cup rematch against Chorley.

    The match on Saturday ended in a 0-0 draw.

    The two-time winners of 'Best Group' at Radio 2's Folk Awards are to perform at a Lincolnshire song contest.

    The Young 'uns will judge and perform at the 'Song for Lincolnshire' competition.

    It's a folk-themed contest in which musicians write songs exclusively about our county.

    It's raising money for Children in Need this year.

    There may be an ongoing political debate about updating the Red Arrows' aircraft themselves, but this weekend they have returned from a tour of the Middle East.

    The aerobatics team were on an 8000 mile journey to promote Great Britain as a tourist destination.

    They've flown past the Kuwait Towers, the glitzy skylines of Qatar, and even the ancient city of Petra but the highlight of the tour must have been returning to the sight of Lincoln's Cathedral:

    A campaign by BBC Radio Lincolnshire has helped train 15,859 people with life-saving skills.

    The campaign is teaching people CPR, to help resuscitate people who've had a cardiac arrest.

    Only a third of people are likely to give you CPR if you suffer from cardiac arrest in a public place.

    For every minute which passes without a patient having CPR their chance of surviving drops by 10%.

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire started the campaign after newsreader Charlotte Wright life was saved by passers-by who knew the skill.

    Officers from Lincolnshire Police are being trained to cope with police chases - by honing their skills with video games.

    They spent a day at Silverstone racing track to learn with Playstation experts.

    It's all to try and improve skills and safety, and don't worry, they did the training on their day off!
