The campaign is being welcomed by Simone Riley from Lincoln (pictured), who was fined after parking legally two years ago.

    Quote Message

I came and parked in the car park, came back within the two hour slot you're allowed for free parking and I'd got a parking ticket, so obviously I was a bit confused by that. It turns out that once they'd sent the evidence through that they'd changed the time stamp to an hour before I was here to make it look like I was here longer than I really was.

Simone Riley, Victim of false parking fine

MP Sir Greg Knight says he thinks some companies should lose their right to get the motorists' info from the DVLA.

There's been a 28% increase in the number of tickets issued this year compared with last year.

The International Parking Community, who represent the industry, says that the vast majority of parking companies issue fines fairly.

They've been taking families out for special days out (pictured above, is a child's thank you note to the charity) to help them recover from a difficult home life.

Marie Chapman from the group says they find "that these basic "building blocks" of family relationships are missing; this has a devastating impact upon the development of children and young people, and their relationships with mothers too."

Domestic abuse can, according to the charity, also have a huge effect on the early development of the children involved:
