    Hope Bolger
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

That's it from me today and, indeed, this week.

We'll be back from 08:00 on Monday with the latest news, sport, weather and travel from across Lincolnshire.

For now though, I'll leave you with five things we've learned today:

  2. This evening's Lincolnshire weather forecastpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    BBC Weather

A few wintry showers with some clear spells leading to a widespread frost by the morning.

  3. An adventure? Alpaca my bags...published at 17:45 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Seb Tiley
    Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

A farm near Horncastle has started hosting special health walks with a trio of alpacas.

    Alpacas

Desire Change, a community farm in Old Bolingbroke, has several walks a week with the alpacas which are open to anyone.

Bramble, Jacob and Joshua, who are therapy alpacas, are trained to work with people for a number of reasons ranging from lack of confidence or trust to anger and mental health issues.

The farm holds a weekly session for the community with the alpacas.

  4. Top police officer 'disappointed' with lack of investmentpublished at 17:35 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Martin Slack
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

One of Lincolnshire's most senior police officers says the force will continue to struggle financially despite its budget being protected.

    Police

The government said this week that more money will go to specialist areas of policing.

Nationally, the number of officers has reduced by 20,000 during the past seven years.

Lincolnshire Police's Assistant Chief Officer Andrew White says he's frustrated with what he says is a lack of investment:

    Quote Message

It was disappointing. We've been making a case for more funding for a good number of months and even years now and to have nothing in the Budget was really disappointing and is going to create difficulties across the service."

Andrew White, Assistant Chief Officer, Lincolnshire Police

  5. Christmas is back in Bostonpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Boston is no longer "the town that Christmas forgot" after local residents rallied round to make this year's festive display "look amazing".

It comes after Boston Borough Council was branded "miserable Scrooges" for a "dismal" festive offering in 2016.

The Christmas in Boston community group said it wanted to make up for the disappointment of last year.

Take a look at this to see how they've got on:

  6. Concerns over funding pull-out for Lincoln bus servicepublished at 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Alex Rhodes
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Officials say they're ending their contract with Lincoln's Walk and Ride service and investing instead in improving the city's Park and Ride service.

PC Coaches, which runs the Walk and Ride, says the decision's shortsighted.

One of their drivers, Paul, says in particular pensioners rely on the service and would be stuck without it.

But Matt Corrigan, from Lincoln Business Improvement Group (BIG), says the money can be better spent elsewhere:

    Quote Message

Our investment is best made in creating a new city centre bus zone where we can utilise the Walk and Ride bus service to provide uphill-downhill linkage in the city centre, but also bring in other buses that are already running in the city."

    Matt Corrigan, Lincoln BIG

The work is expected to be finished by Monday.

  8. Police call for vigilance following robbery in Grimsbypublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Jonathan Willis
    BBC Local Live

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Grimsby earlier this month.

Items stolen on Thursday 9 November from a property on Vaughan Avenue include a television, alcohol, bank cards and a leather handbag.

    Quote Message

I would encourage residents living in this area to be vigilant about their home security to put off potential burglars."

    Sgt Will Harrison, Humberside Police

  10. £2m lost to scams in Lincolnshire - Trading Standardspublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Hope Bolger
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Vulnerable people across Lincolnshire are being targeted by clairvoyant, lottery and sweepstake scams, according to the county's Trading Standards officers.

    Scam

Over 2,000 names of people who are known, or suspected, to have been targeted by scams have been passed to Lincolnshire Trading Standards.

So far, officers have visited 350 people and they say people in the county have been scammed out of £2m in the last 18 months.

As part of scams, people part with cash and in return they're "guaranteed" large cash rewards and other luxury prizes - but they never arrive.

    Quote Message

This is a silent crime and often hidden away from friends and families. Scam victims may be secretive when quizzed, or be quick to change topic. I would always encourage people to ask gentle questions if they are concerned about someone being scammed."

    Trading Standards Officer, Eve Wrighton

  11. Awards recognise 'outstanding' businessespublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

Well done to all the winners and finalists!

  12. Your views: Compulsory bike helmetspublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

    Melvyn Prior
    Presenter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

The government is considering whether cyclists should be forced by law to wear helmets and high-visibility vests on British roads.

    Cycling

The review of bike safety follows an increase in the number of cyclists killed last year.

We've been asking you what you think - and it's certainly got you talking:

    Quote Message

Since walkers have a higher risk of head injury per mile I guess you wear a walking helmet?"

    Bob Moore, Twitter

    Quote Message

I cannot see why not. Compulsory safety measures are already in place for other road users. Why not cyclists?

    Steve O'Dare

    Quote Message

Yes! And hi-viz clothes and bikes must be checked for road-worthy-ness!"

  13. Criticism over waiting times at Scunthorpe Hospitalpublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

Waiting times for planned operations at Scunthorpe Hospital have been criticised by one patient after he was told he would have to wait a year for a hip operation.

    Scunthorpe HospitalImage source, Google

The government's target is to treat 92% of patients within 18 weeks, but figures seen BBC Radio Humberside show 72% of patients are being seen within that time at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust hospitals.

The trust says the current waiting times for planned orthopedic surgery has increased over the past year and its current average waiting time across all three hospitals is 25 weeks.

Mark Baker, who's been told he may have to wait up to a year for an operation on his hip, believes it's a "postcode lottery" for patients:

    Quote Message

A lady who lives near me has been referred to Doncaster hospital. She's already been seen and treated."

    Mark Baker

    Lucy Parry
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Black fridayImage source, Lincolnshire Council Council

It's known as one of the busiest days in the shopping calendar, with people hitting stores online for the best deals.

But Lincolnshire Trading Standards warns that fraudsters exploit this time of year:

    Quote Message

People are looking for those "must-have" Christmas gifts at bargain prices. Don't be in a rush to buy - whatever the adverts say. Just taking a few minutes to check whether the deal is legitimate could save you from being ripped-off."

    Lisa Foster, Trading Standards
