    Fire chiefs have unveiled two new pumps which will be used around Lincolnshire to help tackle flood situations.

    The £100,000 machines - mounted on trailers with 4x4 vehicles to tow them - have just been delivered to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue's training HQ near Lincoln.

    They will stay there for several weeks for crews to train on them before being sent to stations in Gainsborough and Wragby, where they will be based permanently.

    Do you recognise this man? His face was caught on CCTV cameras at Morrisons supermarket on Heapham Road in Gainsborough.

    Police want to speak to him about an investigation into a theft of fuel from the petrol station.

    He was caught on camera at about 14.30 on October 10 - if you can help identify him call police on 101.

    A company which wants to build an animal by-products factory in a village near Lincoln will present their plans to district councillors later.

    Lincoln Proteins Ltd is behind the proposal for a site in Norton Disney but it has not yet submitted a planning application.

    More than 3,000 people have signed a petition against the factory saying it will cause smells and congestion if it's built in the village.

    The company insists new machinery will mean there'll be no odours.

    Seasonal police officers could be employed during the summer to meet extra demand from holidaymakers.

    Lincolnshire Police Chief Constable Bill Skelly said the force was looking at the viability of having "people on-call" to provide cover at peak times.

    The county's coastal holiday resorts attract about 20 million visitors each year, many during the summer months, the force said.

    Mr Skelly said greater flexibility was needed to cope with the extra demand.

    A Lincolnshire council has set up it's own housing company in response to a lack of housing in its area.

    Sleaford-based North Kesteven District Council is in the process of building flats to rent out at £600 a month.

    A new study shows Lincolnshire has one of the most dangerous stretches of roads in the country.

    An investigation into the stretch of road was carried out after an inquest into the death of whole family last year.

    Angela and David Cockburn, from County Durham, died along with their two daughters and granddaughter, after a crash on the A18 in 2013 (above).

    Official figures show 47 people have died on the county's roads this year, this time last year it was 56.

    A man who stole a large wooden charity box from Boston Stump has been given a suspended jail sentence.

    Benjamin Gray, who's 32 and of no fixed address, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court yesterday.

    He was charged with a number of thefts, including taking the collection box (above) from Boston Stump late last month.

    Gray was given a 12-week jail sentence suspended for 12 months.

    The trustees responsible for converting a village church into a community centre say the start of work is "extremely exciting".

    Trustee Judith Crowe says the community thought work may never begin on the 800-year-old All Saints Church - but Lottery money has now made it possible.

    Workers are now converting the church into a Community Hub, external - 15 years since plans for the project were first drawn up.

    More part-time police and officers from eastern European communities are on a wish list published by Lincolnshire's chief constable today.

    Bill Skelly has unveiled his new five-year plan, external which he says will meet his two "broad goals" to meet public expectations and support his staff.

    He says demand is highest at the weekend and during the busy summer season and he wants to have a bank of staff he can call on when required.

    He also says there is a need for officers from Lincolnshire's migrant communities to help better understand the issues they face.
