    Empty homes are being sold off at a knock-down price by Shoreline Housing in North East Lincolnshire.

    Shoreline is offering a selection of "doer-upper homes", older empty properties requiring work, to buy at 35% off the market value across Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham.

    There are 1,700 empty properties in North East Lincolnshire.

    A man has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a minibus in Boston shortly before 04:00 this morning.

    The pedestrian, who is in his 30s, was taken to Boston's Pilgrim Hospital, before being transferred to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, following the incident in Broadfield Lane.

    Lincolnshire Police is appealing for any witnesses.

    Lincoln's uphill shuttle bus faces an uncertain future after funding totalling £20,000 was withdrawn by Lincoln Business Improvement Group (BIG) and Lincolnshire County Council .

    Instead they're investing the money in extending the Park and Ride service between Waitrose on Nettleham Road and the new Transport Hub.

    PC Coaches, which runs the service, is now turning to local businesses and organisations to help fund the shuttle bus.

    Lincoln BIG have yet to comment and Lincolnshire County Council say they understand and support their plans to extend the park and ride service.

    The Boston Christmas lights have been switched on.

    Last year the borough council's effort was branded "dismal" by residents, but this year a community group, Christmas in Boston, took over the organising.

    Illnesses like flu claimed thousands of elderly people's lives last winter in the East Midlands.

    So-called "excess winter deaths, external" reached the second highest level in eight years, according to the latest figures.

    In the East Midlands, which covers Lincolnshire, there were 3,000 extra deaths - up from 1,700 the previous year.

    I'm in Gainsborough this evening where big crowds have turned out for the Coca Cola Christmas truck which is on tour around the country.

    But the vehicle's had a bit of a torrid time in Lincolnshire this afternoon and was late because it got stuck in a muddy field after taking a wrong turn.

    If you're going to Boston's big Christmas lights switch-on tonight, you can park for free after a local businessman stepped in to help out.

    Tim Hopper runs a jewellers in the town and said he decided to stump up cash after the council told him it wouldn't provide free parking for the event.

    Mr Hopper has told BBC Radio Lincolnshire that town centre businesses had hoped the council would offer free parking, but when it wasn't forthcoming he took action.

    Money for this year's Christmas lights and for the switch-on ceremony has also been raised by volunteers after Boston Borough Council said it didn't have money for a display last year.

    The council was branded "miserable Scrooges" for a "dismal" festive offering in 2016 (pictured above).

  15. Drug crackdown operation moves to Bostonpublished at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2017

    An anti-drugs operation which resulted in 12 arrests in Skegness over the last few days has now moved to nearby Boston where three arrests have been made today.

    Lincolnshire Police say it's part of an "ongoing commitment to eradicate drugs from the streets of Lincolnshire".

    Three men, aged between 18 and 21, were taken into police custody after warrants were executed in Peck Avenue, Revesby Avenue, Windsor Bank and Witham Town.

    Seven of the 12 people arrested so far have been charged.

    Figures out today reveal the number of banning orders received by football fans - and it doesn't make good reading for supporters of Grimsby Town.

    In the 2016 to 2017 season, Grimsby Towns fans were issued with the fifth largest number of banning orders out of all the professional football clubs in England and Wales

    A total of 20 fans received banning orders, accounting for a quarter of all new banning orders in League Two.

    The figures have been published by the Home Office, external who have looked into football-related arrests and banning orders.

    We have yet to approach Grimsby Town for a comment.

  17. Warning over 'lights through letterboxes' incidentspublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2017

    Police have issued an alert after several homes in the same street in Coningsby were targeted in unusual incidents over the last few weeks.

    Officers say that in the last three weeks they've had several reports of lights being shone through letterboxes and doors being tried in Old Boston Road.

    A police spokesman said "If you witness any suspicious incidents, including hearing your front door handle being tried, or your letterbox being opened, please report it to us on 101."

  18. Traffic and travel: A46 closed after crashpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2017

    The A46 at Dunholme, near Lincoln, is currently blocked in both directions following a two-vehicle collision.

    Nobody's believed to be seriously injured, but police are advising drivers to avoid the area if possible.

    I know there are still seven days of November left, but Christmas must be nearly here because the tree's just gone up outside Lincoln Cathedral:

    It's ahead of the annual Light Up A Life procession which is held to raise money for St Barnabas hospices across the county.

    People who've lost a loved one can sponsor a name which is placed on the tree after the procession which takes place next Tuesday evening.

    The tree's 30ft tall, but is dwarfed by the huge towers of the cathedral in the background.

  20. Bankrupt Lincoln accountant faces new restrictionspublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2017

    A Lincoln accountant who was declared bankrupt after his gambling and business debts reached more than £4.5m is facing new restrictions.

    Russell Payne, who's 57, and from Lincoln, was declared insolvent in June.

    Now, the government's Official Receiver says he concealed almost £100,000 of income, external.

    Mr Payne used it to repay a relative, two creditors and for his own expenses.

    People declared bankrupt normally face a year of restrictions, including not being able to set up a new business.

    In Mr Payne's case, these will now be extended for a further eight years.
