    Two people have been taken to hospital following a house fire in Sleaford this morning, according to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.

    Three crews from Sleaford, Billinghay and Metheringham were called to a home on Claremont Park, just off Lincoln Road, at about 07:20.

    A brigade spokesman said a woman escaped the property on her own, but fire crews had to rescue a man using breathing apparatus.

    Both were taken to hospital and no details have been released as yet about the extent of their injuries.

    An investigation is under way into the cause of the fire.

    Police in Gainsborough are appealing for help to identify this man as they say he may be able to help with their enquiries into a theft:

    Officers say the theft took place on Tuesday 5 December at the Boots store in Market Place.

    They've released the CCTV picture this morning and anyone with information about his identity is being asked to contact police.

    Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews have been battling a house fire in Sleaford this morning.

    The blaze broke out at a house in Lincoln Road at about 07:00.

    Lincoln's Steep Hill shuttle bus will continue for at least six more months as bosses try to make it commercially viable without subsidies.

    Last month, both Lincoln Business Improvement Group and Lincolnshire County Council pulled funding from the service in favour of the city's park and ride.

    The service operates between the cathedral area and the city's main shopping area, which is separated by the famous Steep Hill.

    PC Coaches, which operates the service, says it's time to use it or lose it.

    Your council tax could go up by an average of £75 a year if the police and county council take advantage of new charging powers announced today.

    Lincolnshire County Council today said it was "minded to" add an extra 4% to next year's bills, but will also consult the public on whether to add even more.

    Meawnhile the county's Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones says he will take advantage of a measure announced by the government today which will allow him to charge an extra £12 a year for police services.

    But Mr Jones says he's disappointed with the police funding deal unveiled by Policing Minister Nick Hurd.

    He says it won't address the funding gap in the long-term.

    Urgent work can take place at Boston Stump after the church won a £40,000 grant for repairs to the tower roof and clock.

    The money, from the National Churches Trust, is part of a national fund of almost £700,000

    It's hoped the work will be complete in time for 2020 - when Boston will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower pilgrims.

    British Steel in Scunthorpe is continuing to recruit more manufacturing trainees.

    The family of a man who went missing in Skegness 19 years ago have renewed their appeal for information on his whereabouts.

    Andrew Capon, from Grantham, was on a night out with friends when he disappeared.

    His daughter Tessa has launched a social media campaign to try and find her father which is being backed by Lincolnshire Police.

    Toys R Us must put £9m into its pension fund by Thursday 21 December or face having a restructuring plan rejected.

    Earlier this month the company said it would close at least 26 UK stores, including the one in Scunthorpe.

    The Pensions Protection Fund says the firm must pay the cash before it can agree a deal that would prevent 3,200 job loses.

    Humberside Police say around half of all crime recorded in the town centre is alcohol related.
