To commemorate 100 years of the RAF in 2018, wings are going to be placed around the city.

Lincolnshire is, of course, famous for its aviation heritage, having played key roles in both world wars and is still home to operational RAF stations today.

The 100 wings in Lincoln will represent 100 voices and will share the stories of the RAF in Lincolnshire from both military personnel and civilians.

There will be eight trails to follow around the city featuring the wings - four walking and four cycling.

The first wings are due to be installed next month.

The Environment Agency is looking into it, but say it's still too early to know exactly what killed them.

They are investigating what is being described as a very serious case of pollution of the River Witham - and say the culprits will be prosecuted.

    Quote Message

It's both upsetting and disappointing and I think people just need to understand that their actions across the whole catchment make a difference to the health of our river that everybody relies on.
