Boston-based charity Local Hope raised £12,000 towards the cost of the swing, and the rest was paid for with Boston Borough Council money.

The swing was added as part of a revamp of the town's parks.

Gary Marsh, from Local Hope, said he came up with the idea after seeing a child in a wheelchair missing out on facilities for other children.

We did a bit of research into this and they aren't very common at all. The odd school has got them but... it's very rare that you actually see them in a public park.

Of the 11 seats up for election, we started off with just one of those seats. We defended that seat and defended it well: a stonking majority in that seat in Hartsholme. And we've also won Witham, Minster and Birchwood, so we've had a very very good night."
