    The A159 Messingham Road is closed in both directions following an accident.

    It involved four vehicles and happened between Manor Road/Moorwell Road and Willoughby Road.

  3. Police 'taking gang crime seriously'published at 17:03 British Summer Time 15 May 2018

    Humberside Police says it's doing everything it can to tackle gang crime.

    The force was responding to claims groups of criminals from Manchester and Liverpool were using young people to deal drugs in the area.

    Police have appealed for help to find a woman from Waltham, between Grimsby and Louth, who's been missing since yesterday.

    Lesley Fenwick, who's 73, has been missing since this morning and officers are concerned because she has dementia.

    She was last seen at around 07.30 at her home on Ronald Farmer Court, off Archer Road.

    Her family have said her going missing is out of character and she doesn’t have a mobile phone or access to a car.

  6. Volunteers help clear canalpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 15 May 2018

    Members of the public have been helping with a clean up operation of a section of the Grantham canal today.

    Volunteers from the Grantham Canal Society, external put out a call for people to meet at Earlsfield Lane Bridge to clear the South Kesteven section.

    It's the first time they're doing it and it comes after concerns were raised about litter left on the banks ending up in the water.

    Public Health England, external is advising people in northern Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire to get a measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) jab, if they've not already had two doses of the vaccine.

    It follows reports of hundreds of cases in England and a number of outbreaks in Europe.

    Experts warn measles can sometimes lead to serious complications, and in rare cases, can be fatal.

    A far-right activist and army veteran from Lincoln has been jailed for a year for stirring up racial hatred.

    Jeremy Bedford-Turner, 48, called for his "soldiers" to liberate England from "Jewish control" in a speech at London's Cenotaph in 2015.

    Sentencing Bedford-Turner, of Rudgard Lane, Judge David Tomlinson described his 15-minute speech as "poisonous" and "sinister".

    The Crown Prosecution Service had initially declined to prosecute him but reconsidered its decision after a legal challenge brought by the Campaign Against Antisemitism.

    A jury convicted him of one count of stirring up racial hatred following two hours of deliberation at Southwark Crown Court.

    The East Coast rail franchise could be scrapped this week, it's being claimed.

    Transport Secretary Chris Grayling is due to announce who will operate trains on the line after Virgin Trains East Coast reported a loss from the route.

    The Financial Times reported that a decision "is expected before the end of the week", after the deal - which was supposed to last until 2023 - was cut short.

    Mr Grayling previously said he will either put the franchise into public control through an operator of last resort or negotiate a short-term deal with the incumbent.

    These vehicles are often used for chasing hare coursers across fields - but as the summer season gets into full swing they're being redeployed to the beach in Lincolnshire.

    Five people have appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court over the deaths of fox cubs at a hunting kennels in at Wormelow in Herefordshire, following a police inquiry into alleged cruelty.

    • Julie Elmore, 54, of Brynarw estate near Abergavenny, faces face four charges of killing fox cubs
    • Paul Oliver, 39, Sutton Crosses, near Spalding, Lincolnshire, face four counts of animal cruelty
    • Nathan Parry, 38, of Brynarw estate near Abergavenny, faces face four charges of killing fox cubs
    • Paul Reece, 47, from Itton, near Chepstow, faces two charges of causing unnecessary suffering
    • Hannah Rose, 29, Sutton Crosses, near Spalding, Lincolnshire, face four counts of animal cruelty

    The offences are alleged to have taken place in May 2016.

    The defendants, who weren't asked to enter pleas at this stage, were granted unconditional bail to return to the same court on 19 June.

  16. One man arrested after firearms incidentpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 15 May 2018

    Police say one man was arrested and remains in police custody, following reports of a man with a gun in Grantham last night.

    A helicopter was also sent to the scene at an industrial estate on Spittlegate Level and a man in his 30's was detained.

    Police say an air rifle and BB gun were recovered.

    Scunthorpe Market is to move to the town's old BHS building after getting the official go-ahead from the town's council.

    The new market is expected to open early in 2019 as part of a £60m redevelopment, while the old site will be demolished.

    Thousands of market traders had previously signed a petition asking the local authority to stop the move.

    The Lincolnshire-based Red Arrows say they're now completely focused on the 2018 air show season after tragedy hit the world famous team earlier this year.

    Training was delayed after a crash in March at RAF Valley in Wales which killed engineer Cpl Jonathan Bayliss (above).

    I'm currently with the team in Greece, where they traditionally train in spring ahead of a busy summer of flying both at home and abroad.

    Senior officers tell me it's been a difficult time for the team, which is usually based at RAF Scampton, but now they simply want to make their show safe and of an acceptable standard for the public.

  20. Lincoln city centre delays: Water meter leak to blamepublished at 09:30 British Summer Time 15 May 2018

    Anglian Water says it was forced to carry out emergency repairs overnight after a leak was found on a water meter.

    Regan Harris, from Anglian, says the lane closure on Broadgate should be removed later this morning.

    She has also apologised to anyone who was delayed on their way into work in the city today.

    However, she adds that leaks have to be repaired as soon as they are detected.
