Larvae released to aid River Witham recoverypublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 25 May 2018
Hundreds of thousands of fish larvae are being released into the River Witham today to try and help it recover from a major pollution event in March.
It's estimated at least 100,000 fish died when high levels of ammonia were found in the water.
The Environment Agency says it will take several years to get the river's complex ecosystem back to full health, but release of the roach and bream larvae is an important first step.
