    A party will be held to bid farewell to some of Sutton on Sea's beach huts today.

    The local residents' association has leased 15 huts on the condemned colonnade for the past five years, but they're due to be pulled down or removed.

    Today's party will double-up as a Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning.

    A choir has marked BBC Music Day outside Lincoln railway station this morning.

    It's part of a series of concerts outside stations today.

    In Lincoln, the BeVox choir has been serenading people arriving in the city with Cliff Richard's Summer Holiday and Magical Mystery Tour by The Beatles.

    A recycling centre in Scunthorpe has ambitions to triple the volume of waste it recycles.

    Ellgia says it has invested "millions" in the old Bell Waste Recycling site.

    It currently sorts through 80,000 tonnes of rubbish every year.

    The company says it recycles or uses everything that comes onto site.

  6. Pay to switch the street lights back on?published at 17:32 British Summer Time 27 September 2018

    Communities that had their street lights switched off by Lincolnshire County Council could get them switched back on again - but only if they're prepared to pay for it.

    According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, new proposals mean that town councils could upgrade their lights to LEDs - allowing them to remain on through the night.

    It comes after the county council switched off more than half of the region's 68,000 street lights in an effort to save money.

    The system means that they are turned off as early as 22:00 in some areas and only come back on at dawn.

  7. 'Hero' paramedics reunited with baby born at homepublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 27 September 2018

    Three paramedics who helped a woman with her "traumatic" birth have been reunited with the baby they delivered.

    Katie and Tom Noble were planning a home birth but when Katie started having contractions on 22 August she was told by her local maternity unit that the midwifery team were busy at another home birth.

    As her labour progressed the Lincoln couple began to panic and called 999.

    Paramedics Mike Cooksley and Richard Charman and Emergency Care Assistant Mark Betts arrived on the scene and helped deliver baby Amaryllis.

    A few weeks later Katie got in touch with East Midlands Ambulance Service to track down the men who helped her.

    The man who runs Louth Hospital says a decision to close beds permanently is out of his hands.

    Two wards closed for fire safety work last year and chief executive Andrew Morgan promised they would reopen.

    But a consultation's now under way which would see 40 beds closed permanently.

    A new campaign has been launched to confiscate cash, cars and other property bought from the proceeds of crime.

    It's being run across Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

    Police want members of the public to get in touch if they're suspicious someone is living beyond their means because they're involved in something illegal.

    People who fail to clean up dog mess in North East Lincolnshire could now land a £100 fine, but from Doncaster council.

    Senior councillors approved the new outsourcing agreement this morning, in an effort to reduce dog fouling.

    It means that fines will be issued by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council on a two-year trial.

    Council leader, Ray Oxby, said that the problem is at the top of the authority's list of issues to tackle.

    "Littering and dog fouling is a number one priority," he said.

    "We are using a model that is proven to work and has very little cost to the council."

    "We are confident that it will make the streets of the borough cleaner."

  16. Smoothie boom for UK's biggest kale producerpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 27 September 2018

    A Lincolnshire kale farm has seen a massive surge in demand because of the trend for healthy foods and smoothies.

    Emmet UK, based in Fosdyke near Spalding, is the largest kale producer in the country and is the sole supplier for supermarkets like Tesco.

  17. Renewed witness appeal for fatal crashpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 27 September 2018

    Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a crash on the B1397 that killed a woman in her seventies.

    It happened on 25 August on London Road in Kirton and involved a red Suzuki Wagon and a blue Ford Focus.

    Police want to talk to anyone who was walking in the area at around 21:15.

  18. Church lead thefts 'an awful thing to do'published at 11:10 British Summer Time 27 September 2018

    Yesterday we told you about a string of lead thefts from the roofs of Lincolnshire churches.

    Four churches have been targeted over three days and Lincolnshire Police think the incidents are linked.
