Police believe the incidents are linked to another incident earlier in the month at St Andrew’s Church in Irnham.

We told you earlier that waste bosses have admitted that the system in Lincolnshire is "daft" after it emerged district councils have conflicting rules about what can be put in a recycling bin.

    Rubbish

You've been having your say about the news that the rubbish system is... well, a rubbish system.

    Quote Message

Maybe it's time for a unitary authority and some real joined up thinking?

    Stephen Cornwell, Facebook

    Quote Message

Excuse after excuse. They have had long enough to get it implemented.

    Alan Ward, Email

    Quote Message

It should be the same recycle rules over the whole country. This is what puts people off recycling and not want to bother.

  14. Lincolnshire recycling system leading to 'confusion'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

Earlier we told you that the head of recycling for Lincolnshire has admitted that the county's conflicting sets of rules when it comes to waste are "daft".

One company handles all the recycling for the county but old rules from a previous system mean that different areas are told different things about what they're allowed to put in their bins.

Libby Peake from the Green Alliance says if we want recycling rates to go up then we need a more simple process.

    Quote Message

I think it's quite unhelpful that so many local authorities have different systems. This is something that leads to a lot of confusion among consumers... we definitely need to have much more consistency.

  19. Thousands of poppies knitted for Heckington eventpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

A Lincolnshire church has far exceeded the number of knitted poppies it needs for a special display next month.

Heckington 100 is a project marking the centenary of the end of the World War One.

Earlier this year it appealed for 10,000 knitted and crocheted poppies to create a special exhibition at St Andrew's Church.

    Knitted poppies

Project chairman Andrew Key says they've been overwhelmed by the support:

    Quote Message

We originally thought 10,000 was far too optimistic and thought we may end up with about 4,000 but we are already at 14,000 and they're still coming in... we had a parcel from New Zealand this week with 51 poppies in.
