    Dry for much of tonight with clear spells across the region, but cloud will increase with outbreaks of rain arriving from the west later. 

    Chilly initially with temperatures falling to 2C (36F), but turning milder later as the southerly winds strengthen.

  4. Fourth defendant in murder case fails to appear in courtpublished at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2016

    A fourth person charged with murdering David Miller in Northampton has failed to appear at Birmingham Crown Court.

    Mr Miller, 56, was found dead at his home in Patterdale Walk last June.

    Three other defendants pleaded not guilty earlier in the day, but Ian Cuthbertson, 50, of no fixed address, did not arrive in court in time.

    The case has been adjourned.

    Three people have now denied murdering Northampton man David Miller, who was stabbed and dismembered at his home on Patterdale Walk in June.

    Joseph Catlin, 30, of no fixed address, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via video link from prison and pleaded not guilty.

    Earlier today, Zena Kane, 36 and Michael Hallett, 58, both of no fixed abode, also entered not guilty pleas.

    Another man, also charged with murder, is expected in court later.

    Brackley-based Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton got his critical Brazilian Grand Prix weekend off to the ideal start with fastest time in first practice.

    To take the title fight to the final race, Hertfordshire's Hamilton must stop team-mate Nico Rosberg winning the race on Sunday.

    Hamilton was 0.230 seconds quicker than the German, who was only third, the two separated by Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

    Hamilton was 0.096secs quicker than the Dutchman, whose team-mate Daniel Ricciardo was fourth fastest.

    Hamilton was faster on both the medium tyres that the Mercedes drivers ran early in the session - by 0.05secs - and on the softs later on.

    Police have confirmed that the death of a man, whose body was found in Wellingborough this morning, is not being treated as suspicious.

    A member of the public made the discovery on a bridge over Harrowden Road just after 06:00.

    A cordon around the area has now been lifted.

    Northampton Town return to league action tomorrow with a trip to Gillingham.

    The Cobblers are sixth in the League One table, which manager Rob Page says is a great platform to build on.

    He said: "We've put ourselves in a great position. We've got a tough month coming up but we're looking forward to it. 

    "We've had a bit of a break and we're full of confidence going into the Gillingham game. 

    "We're the second-highest scorers in League One and have been working on getting rid of the silly mistakes that cause us to concede goals."

    The Cobblers will be without midfielder Jak McCourt, who has suffered suspected nerve damage to his neck.

    The service of remembrance at Wootton Hall was led by force chaplain Viv Baldwin.

    Stevenage's very own Lewis Hamilton says he has "nothing to lose" in Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix, as he attempts to stop Brackley-based Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg clinching the F1 title.

    German Rosberg, who has a 19-point advantage, will seal the championship if he is victorious at Interlagos, where he has won the past two seasons.

    The Hertfordshire champion has never won in Brazil but clinched his first title here in 2008.

    "I have had lots of experiences here. It's tough to come here and win, that's the goal," said the world champion.

    "I don't really know why I have not won here."

    Two people have denied murdering a man who was stabbed and dismembered at his home in Northampton.

    David Miller, 56, was found dead at the property on Patterdale Walk in the early hours of 14 June this year.

    They were remanded in custody.

    Paralympic champion Ellie Robinson has rounded-off a momentous year by being named Northamptonshire Sports Personality 2016.

    The 15-year-old, who has a form of dwarfism, won gold at Rio with a Paralympic record in the S6 50m butterfly final.

    She was honoured at last night's Northamptonshire Sports Awards at Sywell Aerodrome. 

    Speaking to us afterwards, she said: "The Sports Personality Award means a lot. It shows that Paralympics is finally getting the recognition it deserves. 

    "I want to thank my school for helping me fit training around lessons. I also want to thank my swimming club who have done so much to help me on the way to Rio."

    Police are investigating after a member of the public found a body in Wellingborough this morning.

    Officers were called to an address on Harrowden Road at 06:10.
