    Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is warning people not to ignore the "road closed" signs.

    Derbyshire County Council is warning of more than 30 road closures due to flooding.

    These include Main Street in Ticknall, Green Lane in Killamarsh and Heage Lane in Etwall.

    The authority said: "There will be difficult driving conditions across the county with possible patches of standing water on many roads. Stay safe and don't drive on closed roads."

    Several roads across the East Midlands are closed following yesterday's heavy rainfall.

    The A52 into Nottingham is shut between the Saxondale and Gamston roundabouts.

    Water pumps have been at the scene for several hours but Highways England said: "Water continues to drain off the adjacent field."

    It expects the closure to remain in place "for some time".

    Flooding is continuing to cause disruption across the East Midlands after yesterday's heavy rain.

    There are no trains between Nottingham and Derby because of flooding at Long Eaton, with a replacement bus service provided.

    Several roads are closed, including the A52 into Nottingham between the Saxondale and Gamston roundabouts, the A617 Kirklington Road between Rainworth and the A614, and the southbound exit slip-road from the A1 for the B6326 near Newark.

    A total of 19 Environment Agency flood warnings are in place for rivers in and around Nottinghamshire, while there are 23 flood warnings across Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

    It's been a long day of flooding - with even a bit of snow further north.

    The rain has caused travel disruption across the region and in some cases flooded homes and businesses.

    While drivers are being warned about flooding in large parts of the West Midlands, there's an alert over snow falling and settling in parts of the Peak District in Staffordshire tonight.

    Travel data firm Inrix says there are hazardous conditions on the A53 between Flash and Buxton, Derbyshire.

    The Environment Agency has pulled staff from across the country to monitor the situation in the East Midlands.

    Paul Lockhart told East Midlands Today they are still concerned about the River Leen in Daybrook and the Trent, wherever it is still tidal.

    "The weather over the next couple of days is easing but the situation is very changable."
