    People parked at a park and ride in Nottingham are being advised to move their cars due to rising water levels.

    A flood warning is in force for the River Trent at Queen's Drive Park and Ride in Lenton.

    Roads and properties in the area are expected to flood tonight, with the park and ride, Lenton Lane and Powerleague football pitches most at risk.

    Firefighters have told residents of a number of Leicestershire villages to make their own sandbags and to ensure they evacuate if their properties flood.

    The service decided to offer some advice because of water levels in Stoney Stanton, Long Whatton, Bitteswell, Walcote and Oakthorpe.

    They said: "All advised to evacuate if safe to do so, utilise pillows with soil or sand and secure personal belongings."

    East Midlands Railway says a flooded track near Loughborough has disrupted services between Lincoln, Nottingham and Leicester.

    The track is also flooded in Draycott, leading to delays on trains travelling between Derby and Long Eaton.

    Cars and buses are having to navigate an epic puddle that has appeared on a road outside the Victoria Centre in Nottingham.

    The Number 4 bus has been suspended between Maid Marian Way and NTU City because of flooding on Shakespeare Street.

    Derby College has closed three of its sites early because of the bad weather.

    Students at the Roundhouse, Ilkeston and the Joseph Wright Centre were sent home at about 14.30.

    Flooding in Nottingham is causing problems for the city's bus and tram networks.

    Nottingham City Transport says 14 of its routes are affected, with some stops not being served.

    They are South Notts 1, Navy 1, 3, 4 and 49, Green 6 and 10, Pink 28, 30, 31, Orange 35, 36 and Turquoise 79, 79A.

    Drivers have also been warned to avoid the Shakespeare Street and Mansfield Road junction, pictured above, because of "increasing" flooding.

    Nottingham's trams are experiencing some "slight delays" because of the rain.

    There are flood warnings in place for a number of places just outside Newark in Nottinghamshire this afternoon.

    Fans of a "much-loved" duck that went missing during last week's floods have put out an appeal to find him, external.

    Dave, a Muscovy duck that cannot fly, has lived behind an otter fence at Haslams Lake in Darley Abbey for more than 10 years but vanished last week when the barrier was damaged by flood water.

    Members of the Earl of Harrington's Angling Club, who have taken Dave to their hearts, have urged people in the area to look out for him.

    Club secretary Teresa Parr said he was last seen eight days ago, before the flooding situation escalated.

    She told the BBC: "We've had patrols out looking for him this morning but there's been no sign so far.

    "We just hope he's OK. He's quite a strong character in the area."

    Police are trying to identify this person after an 83-year-old woman had her purse snatched from her bag as she sat having lunch in a Derby cafe.

    Derbyshire Police said the purse contained £200 and personal photos when it was snatched at the Britannia Cafe in Thorntree Lane at about 13:30 on 22 October.

    PC Shaun Carter said: "This is a particularly heartless crime as it targeted such an obviously elderly, vulnerable victim.

    "I would like to speak to the woman in the image about the theft and would urge anyone that knows her to make contact with me."

    A stretch of the A623 remains closed in the Peak District following a rock fall yesterday.

    Engineers are due to assess the situation between Stoney Middleton and Eyam after debris from the slip spread across the road.

    Derbyshire County Council said diversion routes had been put in place in both directions.

    Mountain rescuers rushed to Thorpe Cloud yesterday afternoon after a 45-year-old woman slipped on a wet path and injured her ankle.

    The woman was treated by paramedics before being carried to the road by Derby Mountain Rescue Team shortly after 16:00.

    A woman has been taken to hospital after an incident at a house in Alvaston, police have said.

    Derbyshire Police were called to the house in Farm Drive just after 22:10 last night.

    The force said on arrival, a 29-year-old woman was found injured being treated by paramedics.

    She was taken to Royal Derby Hospital where she remains. Her condition is described as "serious but not life-threatening".

    A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.

    There are currently five flood warnings and eight flood alerts in place for the East Midlands with more heavy rain expected later.

    The Environment Agency said flooding is expected on the River Trent at Carlton, Collingham, Cavendish Bridge, Girton and Sawley Marina.

    It said areas where flooding is possible include the Lower Derwent in Church Wilne, the River Idle near Ordsall and the River Wye near Bakewell.
