More than 9,000 shoe boxes are on their way from Shropshire to Kyrgyzstan as a part of Operation Christmas Child, external.
Each one has been packed with gifts for children from poor backgrounds and they have been loaded onto a lorry today.

Planned cuts to agency, locum and bank staff at the hospitals in Shrewsbury and Telford are expected to save them £4m, a report going to the trust's board says., external
It explains that the hospitals spend £2.66m a month on temporary staff and that cutting the equivalent of 150 posts would reduce the overall workforce by 2.8%.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust is trying to cut its overspend and is also looking to cut non-pay spending by £400,000 a month between now and the end of March.

We've had a number of collisions on Shropshire's roads today, but relatively few injuries.
But a man in his 50's has been taken to the Royal Shrewsbury hospital this afternoon after his motorbike was involved in a collision with a van on Wellington Road in Lilleshall.

The Shrewsbury Town manager, Paul Hurst, says he won't take any risks with players who aren't fully fit.
Shaun Whalley's recovery from a thigh injury has been slow and Hurst believes he probably won't be ready for Saturday's match against Fleetwood.
Jack Grimmer and Gary Deegan, who both picked up knocks against Port Vale, should be given the okay later this week for the FA Cup tie.

The trust which runs Shropshire's two main hospitals is planning to cut the hours of temporary staff, equivalent to 150 jobs, including consultants, medical staff and nurses.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is heading for a £12m deficit and needs to reduce that by half.
The savings will also be made by cutting spending in other areas and a financial recovery plan is being discussed in a board meeting on Thursday.

A stained glass window at St Alkmund's church in Whitchurch is being replaced this week, after a seven-month project to restore it.
The panes in the central east window should all be in place by the weekend and workmen will then move on to restore the other two stained glass windows.
The original window was made by William Warrington in the 1860's and there is evidence of several attempts to carry out temporary repairs over the years.

Traffic is very slow again around junction four of the M54, because of the roadworks there.
That's the turn-off for Shifnal and the motorway services.
An Oswestry climber has been shortlisted in a photography competition designed to get us thinking about our safety when we take selfies.
Steve Darrall took this selfie on the summit of Glyder Fach in Snowdonia, describing it as "a fantastic day to be in the mountains".
The #SelfieSafety competition, external is part of a national campaign run by the National Accident Helpline, which says people aren't taking enough care when taking photos of themselves.
The combination of frosty fields and the sun rising over hazy skies allowed the BBC Weather Watchers to take some stunning photos, first thing.
