    Tracey Higgins
    BBC Local Live

Private landlords on some Telford housing estates could be forced to license their properties on some estates in a bid to combat issues such as fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour.

If councillors approve the scheme, already used in some other parts of the country, a five-year licence would cost £610 per landlord.

    Quote Message

I think it is about the landlords knowing who's living in their properties, so we'll be asking them to undertake some tenant checks. I think it's right and proper to ask landlords to visit their properties regularly, to take a look, to make sure that tenants living in their properties are playing their bit in the community and keeping it a nice, safe place to live."
