    The Tigers have one regular season game left against Milton Keynes on Sunday before the play-offs begin on 22 March.

    The new Rector of Ludlow is expected to be licensed in May

    It means he will be taking formal charge of an area, which includes one of the most historically important churches in Shropshire, St Laurence's.

    The Reverend Kelvin Price has been acting Rector of Ludlow since last September. 

    He was ordained following a career in the army and has worked as a priest in the Hereford diocese since 2010.

    Karin Ward won a libel case brought by Freddie Starr who she also accused in a BBC interview, but never recouped her legal costs. 

    The corporation says it's pleased the matter's been resolved.

    Plans to give another £6m to Telford and a Wrekin Council, to pay for adult social care over the next three years, have been welcomed by the leader of the Conservatives on Telford and Wrekin Council.

    Councillor Andrew Eade said it would make a "considerable difference" when combined with the extra £3.6m the authority expects to collect through increased council taxes over the same period.

    The leader of the ruling Labour group, Councillor Shaun Davies, said the extra adult social care money was "welcome but not enough".

    A petition has been launched calling for the chief constable of West Mercia Police to resign , external because he refused to let one of the force's dogs retire with her handler. 

    Sergeant David Evans wanted to buy police dog Ivy so he could keep her when he retired and a campaign to help him has raised thousands of pounds. 

    However West Mercia Police say they aren't allowed to accept such money and Ivy is continuing to do very well with her new handler , external .

  10. Councils say social care cash 'not enough'published at 10:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2017

    More than £17m is to be ploughed into adult social care in the county over the next three years. 

    The money was announced in the Budget last week

    Shropshire Council say their costs go up by £8m every year so, although helpful, the money won't solve their problems. 

    Telford and Wrekin Council "cautiously welcomed" the extra cash but they also argue it's not enough.

    Tyler Roberts scored his fourth goal since he moved from West Brom on loan, but Ian Evatt levelled for Chesterfield before he was carried off injured.

    It's one of the new notes, with a notable early serial number ending 444 444.

  14. Shropshire woman injured at trampoline parkpublished at 09:07 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2017

    A woman from Oswestry is taking legal action against a trampoline park after fracturing her spine there. 

    Sarah McManus, who's 29, is one of several people reported to have been seriously injured at Flip Out in Chester.

    Miss McManus jumped from a 12ft (3.6m) tower into a pit of foam sponges during her visit in January. She had to attract help by throwing them as she couldn't speak. 

    Flip Out Chester says safety is its number one priority and it's investigating the claims.

    Telford Tigers celebrated winning the English Premier League (EPL) with a 4-2 win over Guildford Flames on Sunday night.

    The win was Telford’s 14th in a row, following Saturday night’s 4-3 success against Sheffield Steeldogs.
