Goals from Ben Bailey and John Marsden's first for the club, helped AFC Telford United record a win at Stalybridge that all but guarantees they will avoid relegation this season.

On-loan Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Callum Burton saved a late penalty for The Bucks as Telford moved six points clear of the National North drop zone.

In contrast, Stalybridge are now 14 points from safety.

  2. Telford A&E facing overnight closures later this yearpublished at 08:40 British Summer Time 29 March 2017
    Breaking

    Tim Page
    News Editor, BBC Shropshire

Telford's accident and emergency department could close overnight, from later this year.

A report going to the NHS board running the hospitals in Shrewsbury and Telford on Thursday suggests they should start drawing up plans now, to deal with serious staffing shortages and a failure to fill vacant posts and get help from neighbouring hospitals.

    PRH A&E

The suggestion is to close A&E from 20:00 until 08:00, with emergency cases being taken to Shrewsbury instead.

Walk-in cases would still be dealt with by an Urgent Care Centre in Telford, which could take non-emergency cases.

It's estimated an average of 18 patients a night would be transferred, but the plan could be dropped if the staffing situation in A&E improves.

They came in here last week, played a good game and turned us over, but that didn’t surprise us. We knew they were a good team coming through and when you have that extra incentive in the play-offs, it’s all to play for."
