    A 17-year-old man was taken to hospital yesterday evening after his car overturned at Duddleston.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to Cross Lane at 20:22 and that he was treated for back and neck pain.

    Shropshire have taken three early wickets on the final morning of their match with Wiltshire at Bridgnorth.

    The visitors are now 94-4, with all four wickets going to David Wainwright.

    Tributes have been paid to a teacher who died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest on a school football field.

    Craig Colley, a teacher at Ellesmere's Lakelands Academy, collapsed and stopped breathing at the Grange School, Shrewsbury, at 19:45 on Wednesday.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics were unable to restart his heart at the scene.

    A number of local football clubs have paid their respects to Mr Colley in statements on Facebook.

    Allscott AFC said, external: "His passion, desire and love for the game, his players and parents was something to behold."

    Shrewsbury Juniors Football Club said:, external "Craig served loyally and enthusiastically for many years as one of our passionate managers."

    The RSPCA rescue centre, at Dorrington, says it can't take in any more cats because it is full.

    Gonsal Farm already has 52 cats and kittens waiting for new homes with another being looked after in private boarding.

    It says it is especially keen to find homes for older cats such as eight-year-old Ashton (above left) and 10-year-old Podgey (above right).

    Shropshire's cricketers are bowling again on the final day of the minor counties championship season.

    Yesterday they were bowled out for 389. And when bad light ended play early, Wiltshire were 20-1, a lead of 49.

    Play at Bridgnorth is due to resume at 10:30.

    People living in the Myndtown area are hoping to persuade Shropshire Council to change the way it cuts their roadside verges, to encourage wildlife.

    The parish council has involved local people in a survey of verges in the area, which also includes Norbury, Ratlinghope, and Wentnor.

    It is suggesting mowing them at different times of year and removing cuttings might help wild flowers grow and support other forms of wildlife.

    A meeting's taking place at Edgton Parish Hall tonight to discuss the idea.

    AFC Telford United were beaten 1-0 away to Curzon Ashton last night, but manager Rob Edwards refused to criticise his players afterwards.

    It was the team's third successive defeat and Edwards accepted it was "really frustrating" for the team and the fans.

    But he said "the players can take no blame, because their work-rate was frightening" and he thought his team "dominated the game".

    The family of footballer Dalian Atkinson says the passing of time will not weaken its resolve to find out the facts surrounding his death - one year ago today after being tasered by police.

    The device was deployed against the former Aston Villa star at his father's house in Telford. He was 48.

    The family of Dalian Atkinson say they're still reeling from their loss, a year after the death of the former Aston Villa star.

    The 48-year-old died after being tasered by police last August outside his father's house in Telford.

    Police watchdog investigators are still looking into the case.

    In a statement released by the family, they say they're determined to get to the facts and are in it "for the long haul".

    AFC Telford United hope their new signing Marcus Dinanga can help sharpen their attack.

    Dinanga is a 20-year-old striker with Championship side Burton Albion, and has joined Telford on a season-long youth loan.

    Last year he scored 30 goals in a similar loan to Matlock Town in the Northern Premier League.

  16. Open-air screening of Top Gun for RAF museumpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    The RAF museum at Cosford is going to be putting on a screening of Top Gun on a giant inflatable screen next month.

    It will be 24ft tall and will sit between the VC10 and Hercules and one of the aircraft at the museum is going to be opened up as a popcorn stall.

    It's the first time the museum has tried an open-air cinema event, but it is already looking for suggestions for the next one.
