    Shropshire are closing in on Wiltshire's first innings total of 418-7.

    At tea on the second day at Bridgnorth they were 367-8, 51 runs behind the visitors.

    Captain Steve Leach has been the top-scorer so far with 86 and there have been 50s from Ross Aucott and Jack McIver.

    After two tough games against teams expected to challenge for promotion, AFC Telford United are hoping to get back to winning ways against Curzon Ashton tonight.

    Midfielder Jack Rae said both Brackley and Salford were "well organised" with "really, really experienced players".

    In the three months from 1 April to 30 June the police recorded more than 100 crimes involving drones over Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

    The majority involved drones flying over properties, but there were also two reports of drones being shot at, seven of drones flying over prisons and one of a drone flying over a police station.

    Warwickshire Police recorded 30 incidents in that period and West Mercia Police 80.

    And there were reports of drones crashing into gardens and sports fields and one of an owner trespassing to recover their drone.

    Did you spot a woman rolling a large copper ball around Shrewsbury at the weekend?

    She is Janetka Platun, a local artist, and she has mounted small cameras in its surface so she can record people talking about subjects like like "home", "belonging", "community" and their place in the world.

    The conversations will be mixed with footage of it rolling through the streets to create a film which will go on show in London and Shrewsbury.

    A man in his 30s has needed hospital treatment after being kicked and punched outside the Odeon cinema in Telford town centre at the weekend.

    Police say he was standing outside with his partner just before 21:00 on Saturday when he was attacked by three men.

    He suffered a broken nose and a swollen eye.

    Some of the residents in a Shrewsbury sheltered housing scheme say they're angry that the area in front of their bungalows has been pedestrianised, with plastic bollards and rocks to keep vehicles off.

    They say it's making access to the Porchfield estate difficult for people who can't walk very far.

    The company which looks after the homes, Well Housing Plus Group, says it consulted before carrying out the work and that the move was made to protect vulnerable people who want to use the pedestrian areas.

  13. Fire at Oakengates flats thought to be deliberatepublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    A fire at a block of flats in Oakengates at the weekend was probably started deliberately, the police have said.

    The fire service was called to Buttery Grove at 02:55 on Saturday and said it caused extensive damage.

    Residents from four properties had to be evacuated and have been found other places to stay, but none needed medical treatment.

    Shropshire Revolution's reward for their perfect 10-0 season is a home tie against the number eight seed Morcambe Bay Storm in the Division Two play-offs.

    The line-ups have been confirmed with the completion of the regular season and the other matches in the NFC2 quarterfinals will see Leeds Bobcats host Staffordshire Surge, Glasgow Tigers at home to Aberdeen Roughnecks and Gateshead Senators playing Chester Romans at home.

  15. Artist pushes large copper globe through streets of London and Shrewsburypublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    A Shrewsbury artist, who is pushing a large copper globe around the country, was in her home town at the weekend.

    Janetka Platun says the ball represents the planet and she is using it to collect stories, by asking people what they feel about their place in the world.

    She says it is a partnership with the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, external and will be pushing the 50kg (110 lb) globe around Shropshire over the coming days and then plans to take it to India in November.

  17. Man quizzed after Whitchurch firearms incidentpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    A 31-year-old Whitchurch man was arrested on Saturday afternoon, on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm and threatening behaviour with a firearm.

    Police were called to an address in Queensway in Whitchurch at 14:00 and say the incident was resolved peacefully.

    The man has since been released on bail until 8 September.

  18. Delayed roadworks get under waypublished at 10:35 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    Work to repair Castlefields Way in Telford has got under way this morning, after a delay of a week.

    Tests had revealed cracks on the road surface, as well as subsidence and problems with its sub structure.
