A new network has been launched to honour poet Ted Hughes who spent his childhood in Mexborough near Doncaster.
The Ted Hughes Network, external has been launched at the University of Huddersfield.
The new network involves The Ted Hughes Society, The Elmet Trust and the Ted Hughes Project (South Yorkshire).
One goal of the group is to secure funding for a Yorkshire-wide Ted Hughes Literary and Heritage Trail.

Plans to turn Sheffield Central Library into a five star hotel have been discussed. At a meeting last night the council said it can't guarantee there'll be no disruption to the service if the library moves.
A petition against the proposals has gathered more than 10,000 signatures.
A further public meeting about the council's plans will take place at the town hall tonight.

BBC Look North
A charity single recorded in memory of the murdered Yorkshire MP Jo Cox is released today.
A group of music stars and MPs have covered "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones.
Sales of the single will raise money for the Jo Cox Fund, external.
The appeal has raised almost £2m in memory of the politician, who was murdered in June.

Doncaster's Frances Bishop is out of The Apprentice.
The clothing boutique owner was fired by Lord Sugar last night.
Frances failed to get through a gruelling set of interviews and is heading back to Yorkshire.

A tent city for the homeless which has been set up in Doncaster is set to close today.
Doncaster Council is going to court to get an order to take back the land by the Old Civic Theatre in Waterdale.
The authority says that although the camp has done good work since it was set up last month, it is now becoming a "magnet" for homeless people from outside the borough.
Campaigners say they are working on getting the last few people on the site housed but have also said they are considering setting up a second site at another location in Doncaster.

A new drop-in service in Sheffield officially opened yesterday helping drink and drug addicts get clean.
The Sheffield Recovery Community is running weekly sessions at De Hood in City Road on Thursdays between 16:00 and 20:00.

We've been talking about the football abuse scandal this morning.
It comes after it was confirmed that three historical abuse cases are being investigated by South Yorkshire Police.
The clubs involved in the cases have not been identified.
A national helpline , externalset up by the NSPCC has had more than 1,700 calls in the past three weeks - an unprecedented number.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield Mike Hanning from the charity said the football abuse scandal could be bigger than Operation Yewtree, the investigation started after the Jimmy Savile abuse claims.

Three... two... one... lift off!
A team from Sheffield have launched a pie into space.
The first known pastry space flight happened in Wigan this morning.
The team from Sent Into Space launched the pie out of the atmosphere at the World Pie Eating Championships in Wigan.
But just like fellow space traveller E.T. the pie is expected to head "home" over the Pennines back to Yorkshire.

A financial firm which employs more than 300 people in Doncaster has said it will stay in the town.
