    Five former bosses at the Football Association have described the organisation as outdated, saying it's full of "elderly white men" who block reforms. 

    They're urging the government to step in and make changes, and they've laid out their concerns in a letter to the Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

    Outbreaks of mostly light rain arriving from early afternoon, along with hill fog. It will feel rather chilly everywhere.

    Tonight will be overcast with hill fog and outbreaks of mostly light rain at first. Overnight the rain clears away northeastwards, and perhaps a few cloud breaks develop, allowing patchy fog to form.

    Telecoms giant BT is to create 500 customer service jobs across the UK mainly at contact centres in Doncaster, Swansea, Warrington and Accrington.

    The jobs are in addition to a previously-announced target of 1,000 posts across the UK and Ireland by the end of next March.  

  5. Barnsley remembers England's worst ever mining disasterpublished at 11:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2016

    People in Barnsley will come together later today to mark 150 years since the Oaks Disaster - England's worst ever mining tragedy.

    On this day in 1866, 362 men and boys descended 900ft (274m) down the Oaks Colliery shafts.

    William Ward (pictured below) was a volunteer rescuer who lost his father, John, in the first explosion.  

    He played a key role in raising money for the first memorial, which was installed in the grounds of Christ Church, Ardsley, in 1879.

    The disaster, which killed miners and those trying to rescue them, happened after a series of explosions ripped through the workings.  

    A total of 383 people died, the youngest was only 10.

  6. Watch: Doncaster provides health bus to assist drunk revellerspublished at 11:17 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2016

    A bus is being used in Doncaster to provide a safe haven for revellers who've hurt themselves or had too much to drink. 

    It will be parked on High Street on Friday and Saturday nights in the run-up to Christmas. 

    A nurse, health care assistants, social worker and mental health professional are on board. The hope is it'll take pressure off A&E departments.

  8. £30m bus link between Rotherham and Sheffield openspublished at 10:45 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2016

    Bus passengers travelling between Rotherham and Sheffield are getting a new service following completion of the £29.8m Bus Rapid Transit North scheme.

    The X1 Steel Link runs on a new Tinsley link road built over the River Don and under Tinsley Viaduct, to provide a more direct route for buses and improve congestion in the area.

    A Rotherham man has been arrested after a motorcyclist died in a crash with three other vehicles in North Yorkshire.

    A Citroen C1, VW Jetta, a Ford Ranger pick-up truck and a Honda motorbike collided on the A19 in Selby on Friday.

    The motorcyclist, 24, from Goole, East Yorkshire, died at the scene.

    Bin collectors in Doncaster are on strike, external this morning. 

    The Unite union says the strike is about holidays and what they describe as "bullying" bosses. 

    Contractor Suez says the union is taking action to try and reinstate an employee dismissed over an alleged health and safety breach.

  11. Orgreave files to be made public next yearpublished at 09:59 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2016

    Files relating to the so-called Battle of Orgreave are expected to be made public in 2017, it has been revealed.

    In a letter to the Home Affairs Select Committee, the home secretary said 30 files relating to the UK miners' strike would be sent to the National Archives.

    The subject titles show that at least one file relates directly to Orgreave.

    In October, Home Secretary Amber Rudd ruled out an inquiry into the clashes between miners and police at the coking plant on the edge of Sheffield in June 1984.

  12. Sport: Call for Paul Warne to stay on as Millers managerpublished at 09:45 Greenwich Mean Time 12 December 2016

    Rotherham United captain Lee Frecklington has called for Paul Warne to remain the boss at the New York Stadium after Saturday's win against QPR. 

    The 31-year-old would like to see Warne stay in the job as caretaker rather than Rotherham United find a quick replacement for Kenny Jackett.

    A new platform opens at Doncaster railway station this morning, to be used for trains terminating or starting from the town. 

    It's called Platform Zero, you'll find it at the end near to the Frenchgate shopping centre.

    The referee on duty at Hillsborough on the day of the disaster has claimed his statement was changed to support allegations fans were drunk.

    Sheffield's Lord Mayor Denise Fox and her husband Terry Fox took to the ice in front of a packed audience over the weekend performing to Ravel's Bolero.
